This seems like a major site, so there's probably have a 20-30 character password stored in some enterprise edition of LastPass that everyone with main DB access can use without ever learning the password. if DRHK wanted the keys he'd probably have to apply and get the job, because you're probably secured against SQL injection to prevent people who really really want to cheat at Diplomacy.

Also I'm in a bit of a "let the lurkers live a little" phase because it's been wrong in M75 and M1021, which sure is maybe a little more of the gambler's fallacy (trying to nail 1 scum lurking in 3 people is going to miss 2 out of 3 times).

But like I agreed with worcej earlier, I agree with the idea that scum are more likely to be more active because of the N0.

I disagree with pretty much everything you’ve said here but most of it is philosophical so I’ll just say you’re wrong and let it be.

As for not pressuring rdrivera and explicitly noting that you won’t pressure rdrivera because he couldn’t handle pressure in a prior game, that is some bullshit. If he’s too busy to play he just won’t reply - who cares?

I don't have one. I do have no read on anyone, no personal understanding on darg as a person. And no real ability to tell duplicitious (or actually abusive) behavior apart from genuine behavior short of verifiable lies. (assuming I notice them)

If he wasn't such a good friend this would just feel alot simpler. Some part of me thinks he just kinda walked himself into a bathtub, fell in, twisted his ankle, and is just lost town who got cornerned and taken aback by being pushed by so many.

It doesnt explain the other flaws and issues happening but it can be a reality.
