this is pro town, but more just courteous in general. The only way this is a scum gimmick is if you think you needed to alert one of your new buddies to get with the program. I doubt this is the case.

Balki as town is generally very much engaged and solve-y. Here I feel like he's just defending himself and trying to play some kind of peacemaker. I don't see any indication that he's trying to sort out a puzzle of any kind. I think town!Balki doesn't let today die just because we have a caught scum to kill.
