Espresso, the reason why I'm scumleaning you this game is quite simple. I think I expected more understanding from you regarding your analysis of my alignment, you came right into the game like a bull and didn't pause to ponder. You are an intellectual when in town mode, that's what I've picked up from last game.

This time, there's an individualistic agenda, I find you similar to xorxes from last game, where I was trying to get him to talk to me, but he always ran away.

Is pocketing someone in the sense of trying to get them to be your pocket pet, your friend who trusts you and sticks by you?

Or like in a game of pool where you’re trying to pocket a ball to remove it from play?

Pocketing is a term used to describe scum trying to butter up to town aka gaining town peeps' trust so that they'll gain favor aka no vote = surviving more phases

When you're accused of pocketing it's no bueno.

In contrast, I've been falsely charged with pocketing in past games just because I freely encouraged people in my towncore, thus the term can be abused.

And thank you for outlining the implications as well. I got that trusting anyone implicitly in this game is probably a bad idea (as I say this to a gang of Diplomacy enthusiasts), but hadn’t considered the implications of an accusation or what else could look like that.

However the >60% thing doesn't mean much. Amy townsperson can pick 4 people ar random and the chance of at least 1 scum > 60%

No Bunny not at all. There are 7315 combos of 4 from 22. 5985 combos of 4 from 21. I forgot to take into account that I know I'm not scum.

@Kit I find that if you have pretty strong grounds for believing someone is town without them being mechanically clear it can be a game winning strategy to trust them implicitly.

Trust me. Ho ho.(Now of course some of the weaker players will call me out as scummy for the 'Trust me' but I couldn't resist it).

A general rule is that pocketing is more subtle than blatant, a player is not even aware of being controlled/influenced by a scum, that's how it should be implemented for its true intent

Phuck bomb's classifications, there are like 50 variations for neutrals and many others for town and scum, you need to have the initials (for example LG) and what it means side by side. Who has time for that? I got nothing from BG, Kitsune and any other player who were using bomb's style

It's a fancy way to overcomplicate a list but not only that

it makes scum use a lesser degree of seriousness when referring to potential partners, we can't hold them accountable because there are 5 types of everything. Bomb, do better

I prefer bozo's style, but Neph mentioned it being a horrible tactic now..

Excellent point. Im interested in 5 alignments: townread, townlean, null, scumlean, scumread. This idea looked like people scoring nerdpoints to no effect, so even though I got excited to be aligned both CE and LG I was uninterested in participating. But you make a great point about why it's also a good activity cover for scum.
