##GM Note
Were looking into that. For now Jamiet99uk did vote for Ezio, and then Unvoted. which is in compliance with our policy and as such Jamie is not on our list of concerns.

Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
I’m against not voting but I’m also against playing this game too much in the morning and being late for work. I’ll try to play a bit once I’m at work and my urgent projects are taken care of.
Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
This is probably true. Scum have a natural incentive to be agreeable and likeable in order to avoid being suspected and to keep more town on their side. Good thinking!aarodactyl wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 1:09 pm##vote foxcastle since we’ve established not contradicting someone is clearly a Clinton-slip.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 1:06 pmSorry, I wasn't trying to contradict you or anything, just commenting.aarodactyl wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 1:04 pm

##CALL GM: maybe something for Peter to look at, in case this is an edgecase that the bot isn't handling properly.

That full-time mafia chat is going to be a PITA.
I wonder if a way around it is to consolidate in like 3, 4, 5 key blocs...who do you resonate as town with, then vote around that, making sure to avoid the tie.
But then the "vote once"" but you can also Unvote and still be in compliance is CAF.

Steve: Okay, Act 1 is a breeze. This is so easy with a dragonborn!. I should probably talk to this nice little old lady, Auntie Ethel. She seems pretty chill..

Alr I'm caught up on the thread again.
New alignment chart: A few notes:
ghug feels like he is powerwolfing
Bunny seems to be playing as town but is doing it an extremely messy fashion (ChatGPT), so he is Anarchic Good
Hamilton has not made a single good post this game

I'm also going to ##VOTE HAMILTONBRIAN

This is a good read, I was a bit surprised kotp is still on this.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:41 pmKak's opinion is not quite universal but it should be. I think you are being coached to act this way because you've incorrectly used this method in the past and you've been corrected in the past as well.kingofthepirates wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:38 pmwhile I do understand this, I'm also doing no kill as a general safety vote, in case I forget or something comes up that prevents me from voting down the line. I'll still be trying to keep up and updating voting as I do. the instant snap back against no-vote is, to me at least, very interesting though (granted I'm still partially looking at this game through an among us lens, where skip is, of course, a very valid option).Kakarroto wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:21 pmthe point is, to get voting information from everyone, how they react, save that information, then use that information, where every town should know nothing and only play on gut, or guesses, on a later date. Like 'oh, now whe know X flipped mafia, on day one it looks like Y and Z tried to rescue X and voted C instead. Lets have a deeper look into them'. And there are lots of more things to gain of, later, with reactions and stuff that happened in the prior days.
Voting no-kill is like not providing information from yourself, making yourself kind a blank slot, which is what a mafia member would like to do, at least some. The more information about you is publicly known, your behaviour and voting and reason etc., the better other players can read you. Town want to find other town, as much as they want to find mafia.
As town, it is quite a good idea to project information from you, so your team members can read you. Mafia knows already you are not on their team, though they want to know who the PR's are. THAT information should be hidden as town, yes, but also, it's probably a good idea to send information out about your thoughts, reasoning and logic.

Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
I'm skeptical that coaching at the level of specificity is real. I think it's more likely that KOTP just can't get away from the allure of the no-kill theory.
Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
Or what if Squigs scumslipped, even though it is not an actual scumslip, and you are on his scumteam and are desperately protecting him?DiplomacyandWarfare wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:51 pmA new player would be most likely to scumslip and answer this question, which might explain Squiggs posting - preventing his scumteammate from slipping.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:47 pmWhy "with a new player"?DiplomacyandWarfare wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:47 pm
I just checked. Brain did in fact say there are 5 scum in the sign up thread.
To Foxcastle, I don't think Squiggs actually said how many, he just waved off the question. Squiggs might be scum with a new player.
Round and round we go.
Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
Only if they have a PR; so now we have found a roundabout way to decide if someone is a PR town or not, what a great idea! NOT. VERY BAD. This is a BAD question to ask peopleFlaviusAetius wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 11:04 pmSome people prefer to play as town.ghug wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:22 pmAnyone who doesnt say they would accept a tadpole is a big fat joke, unless the Mafia team LITERALLY gets SLAUGHTERED people are picking mafia. And EVEN if the team DID get slaughtered how fun would it be to do such a big comeback. I think this is a useless questionFlaviusAetius wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:18 pm
I think there are some players that fit that criteria. I would like to ask though, how about you? Would you accept a tadpole, if given to you? Would you like to play mafia this game?

Good point.
Flavius is my first townread.

You are mixing diegetic and non-diegetic elements of TTRPGs. This is cringe.BunnyGo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 11:08 pmApologies for my brief absence, friends. I was waylaid by a particularly loquacious NPC who shared some fascinating tales. On a brighter note, my sidequest was a resounding success. It was a stupid theory and Maniac was stupid for coming up with it.aarodactyl wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 12:47 pmI can’t believe you missed a reference to contraction theory. Bunny typically picks a gimmick before the game and then tries to stick to it. So this is just how they play I guess. I’ve also closely read their posts and they had an adequate number of contractions.

Sweeeet.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 12:52 pmI don't think it is anti-town at all. But interestingly enough Jamiet normally vehemently scumreads me for doing the same.Squigs44 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 11:38 amYour post made it sound like you were choosing to stop reading because the first 7 pages were insufferable, not because you were tired. Also Bunny had 3 short posts in the first 7 pages. Bunny didn't get difficult to read till much later, and even then I wouldn't characterize them as insufferable.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 10:53 am
I wasn't refusing to participate.
It was nearly 1am my time and I was tired.
I am here.
And now your second order of business is to hardclaim, which is arguably more anti town
So is this NAI or is he Mafia?
When have I vehemently scumread you for claiming VT as top wagon?
