Ah, you're right - I only saw "Mediterranean" and not "Black". I humbly scratch my guess (though I don't know if I will come up with another).

Also not Scriabin for that exact reason, being born in Moscow and for for Russia bordering Black Sea. I was excited there.

I think this person has to be from the Baltics or Finland, right? I was thinking Eino Kettunen (the guy who wrote Ievan Polkka) but he was born too late.

I have an idea of who it could be, but it's not worth it to take an unfree guess before Q20. Maybe we could ask if the country is landlocked? That would cut the country list in half.
