I may have missed it, but it looks like we didn’t rule out an expanded definition of athletics at all. Maybe his source of fame was something related to that instead of the arts.

I was thinking about Jules Léotard who obviously doesn't fit, and then tried to find other circus performers. Good game! Next thread will be up relatively soon.
