Great guess, but unfortunately Round 282 was already Boris Johnson. Glad to see you in 20Q again though

But I will refund the free guess if you want to use it on account of what DreamTrawler noted

Re: Twenty Questions Game 376
Clarification;
14,15,17. Held elected office or ran for elected office, but hasn't served in the US House of Representatives or Senate, or as a governor of a US state or territory
Does this mean they NO longer hold that office? (if they ended up winning)

It does not. This person may or may not currently be in office.FlaviusAetius wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 10:14 pmClarification;

Re: Twenty Questions Game 376
It cannot be Trump because of the answer to Question 11.DreamTrawler wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 9:16 pm(not a guess)
There’s no way it’s Trump, right? He’s definitely been in the news in the last year.
I feel like it must be some other notable dark horse candidate though. Cornel West doesn’t fit the birthplace but idk

Remember, conditional questions and guesses aren't allowed anymore. You can either use your free guess on Eric Adams, use the twentieth question on "Is this person a mayor?" and then use one of the five remaining guesses on Eric Adams.
That said, isn't Eric Adams primarily famous for politics? Or is his fame as a police officer enough to warrant a pass?

Re: Twenty Questions Game 376

Re: Twenty Questions Game 376
The "primarily famous for arts or politics" question was passed.FlaviusAetius wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 12:54 amwhy say this person cant be famous from politics? which one says that is wrong?

Re: Twenty Questions Game 376
If Eric Adams, or say, Bill Clinton or Paul Ryan was the answer, then the answer to that question would have been "yes", not "pass".FlaviusAetius wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 1:38 amwho knows why thoHominidae wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 1:22 amThe "primarily famous for arts or politics" question was passed.FlaviusAetius wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 12:54 amwhy say this person cant be famous from politics? which one says that is wrong?

Re: Twenty Questions Game 376
Presumably someone substantially famous for politics and law enforcement would be ruled out by the non-pass to the “famous for government position aside from his elected one” answer to Q19.Hominidae wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 12:51 amRemember, conditional questions and guesses aren't allowed anymore. Edit: this would also presumably rule out someone like Pete Buttigieg or Marty Walsh who are Mayor/Cabinet combos. (Neither fit the age range either)
Re: Twenty Questions Game 376
Is this scratching the question and the guess or just the guess?

scratching it all gotta go back to the drawing board
Re: Twenty Questions Game 376
Not an official question but one for the team.
Is it worth asking if the person was famous before running for office or are we just assuming that?
I suppose they could have become famous for something else after running for office but this seems unlikely.
The other attack could be to try a question narrowing down primary source of fame which we know is not arts/sports/writing.
Thoughts?
