C: first introduced in a video game?

Also, when main character is defined, is that considered as just the protagonist or ANY main character, inclusive of, say, the main villain.

My interpretation is that this was asking about *the* main character (protagonist).

A lot of times when someone gets the answer on these, I can see, logically, how they were able to put all of the information together to narrow it down. But every now and then I'm dumbfounded....

Just back from vacation to find this FASCINATING puzzle!

I believe I'm allowed two questions in a row; I hope I can combine them in one post.

Question for Person A: are any of the films based on his work produced in English?

Question for Person D: Born in Scandinavia?

We should have enough information for Person A, but I can't find a single English film, based on a Russian work, by an author born after 1884 from Asiatic former Soviet Union. Aleksander Solzhynitsyn is close, but born at 43N on the European side of the Caucasus.

Is Person D either a professional performer, or born in the UK, or both?
