Where they ever political prisoners, war prisoners, arrested or in legal trouble for political demonstrations or expressing their political views, or imprisoned for political or racial reasons?

Can I get an extra free guess for pointing out the misspelling of 'fourth' as 'forth'?
An interesting question...

I would say that there are two likely outcomes. Either it goes as you hope, the question master is impressed, and you're awarded a free guess, or the question master is irritated and takes a guess away. Only one way to find out ;)

Rules question:

Do we get 4 free guesses each?
The original intent of the rule was to allow 1 free guess, with the ability to make a further guess at the expense of one question. I believe this was put in place to stop a player using an "I win or we all lose" strategy. My modification was merely to relax the rule and allow for some additional guesses at the expense of a question each, but if the masses are demanding more free questions I will allow it.

When I glance at this thread it looks at first glance that someone has guessed an answer and is being rather clever... but then I realise that it's just a massive coincidence ;)

A) Yes
B) kind of... I think in the spirit of the question it's no, but from a certain point of view then yes.
C) Nothing obvious to suggest that he was, so I'm assuming not
D) No

I assume you’re referring to Hanging Rook’s profile. Anyone want to guess Nathan Hale?

Does their name appear as commander/leader on US side in the Wikipedia page titled American Revolutionary War?

Nathan Hale?
This is my potato. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My potato is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my potato is useless. Without my potato, I am useless.

No idea. The question master has better things to do than look through Wikipedia lists. But if you're asking whether these people were traitors to the crown during the proto-Communist uprising in the more southerly American colonies in the 1770s, I can answer the following

A) No
B) Yes
C) No
D) No

Would have fit person A: the British army hanged him for being an American spy.

I would be very surprised if you guessed the connection prior to guessing at least one person
