Eh, to provide some self-reflection in response, it's more that I feel that I get nit-picked for just about any method I play and then scummed for it while also all contributions I provide are ignored.

Try to be nice, get scummed.
Provoke a fight, get scummed.
Not be around for some time, get scummed.
Post too much, get scummed.

Then, when I am trying and hunting, it isn't noticed. I have been scum hunting, yet you don't see it because I try to communicate said observations to judge if it's worth discussing. I typically make observations about situations ongoing and it's typically not acknowledged and then told I'm doing 'nothing'.

It just gets old to be in the same loop because I don't see a method to 'break' the loop without being a raging shitlord for you all to take me seriously in any way.

Unironically just stop worrying about being recognized for it. It’s incredibly overrated anyway. I am comically bad at actual scumhunting and have been coasting on reputation for years, all this stuff is just glamorizing the past when there’s work to be done today.

I gave you grief about M67 and was kinda shitty about it because I was mad, but the truth is that the entire reason I was wary of you is that I was unimpressed with your work and I believed you capable of better. If I thought you sucked I would have just ignored it and continued null-to-towning you. As it happens you at least caught one mafia to my um, zero (so far!!!!) so clearly my overall assessment wasn’t even right, but in any case it came from a place of respect for your play. You’re good, some of these guys will catch up to it, some of them won’t, none of it matters. Just win.

Another way to view it that works for me: It's not your job to get people to read you a certain way or listen to you. It's your job to do your best in presenting yourself. Focus on that, and be proud when you do well regardless of the result, and take a hard look on doing your work better when the results consistently aren't what you want. But don't do other people's work; that's their work. And don't let them do your work; that's your work.

I haven't got there yet...but it helps with parenting a lot: that's the kids work/my work. My job is mostly to teach and to help when asked (or when they need it but can't ask for some reason). Their job is to learn and take on more responsibilities towards independence.

That feels like it could be cheesed really easily. Perhaps they know some other people have a 'bandmember' role (that is marked as VT to the players who have it), and they have to get the band back together by visiting them, and then they have to prevent a majority of the bandmembers from dying. Feels like it could be terrible or really fun.

Beating the drum over and over:
There are no crumbs about my role - I decided to not try to plant any because I figured I'd draw too much obvious attention to it like last game I was the cop and got made.

My focus on defending myself and pointing at the bad cases was because I'm a PR and instinctively am trying to survive against the overall threat of being DK'ed, which I brought up purposely in an effort to show you all usually DK me and get it wrong a lot.

If I was scum with bozo coming out with the doctor claim, I would've claimed JOAT or Cop instead to bait those roles out and sow more confusion to figure out. It would've set D3 potentially up to be bozo, myself, Chaqa, or any CC from a JOAT down the road. Not much of a defense, but more a statement of why I am not lying since I would've done a better lie instead.

Bozo's initial claim as doctor makes sense to save himself and bait out the real doctor CC to squeak value out of his flip to the rest of his scum team. Clearly, based on bozo's post, the scum may be planning to try to keep me alive into D3 instead of dealing with me now. This is a big gamble because it requires them allowing a possible Chaqa cop scan to get out.

So tonight we, the town team, get to play chicken with the scum. Do they RB me and kill elsewhere and risk a scan or JOAT? Do they RB and kill me and just take the loss of Bozo? Do they RB Chaqa and keep him as potential cop and let me try to guess on the NK target?
