Brave Goldfinger had spent most of the last few days under suspicion, talking his way out of more than one attempt at shooting him down. Ironically that seemed to have made him virtually immune to the terrors flitting around the ship, and he was instead favoured with the warm and willing company of the ship's companion to see that he got up to no mischief.

But today was a cold day, and after her murder there seemed to be no more chances. By order of the local justice and with the enthusiastic or at least full voiced support of the crew, it was time for him to face the gallows.
