Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
Man, this 3P crapola can really distract us from the main goal at hand. I don't want to bother my mind with the "what ifs" right now. That's "basic Brian."
What I am reading is some pretty pointed ...not accusations, but I guess challenges between one another.

Can you speak more about what you like about Bona?Kakarroto wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 10:40 amOof, at least I've read up to here now, who makes 24 hour starting days? Can't make even a good joke phase with work and stuff happening.
Anyway, I clearly don't want to leave with my introduction joke vote (well at least halfly, ghug might be still e~vi~l but I don't see anything out of the ordinary), I like the posts of bozo and bob; celaph and bona look good too. Maybe Vecna is up there too ... not too sure about that though.
Jamie is ... hmm ... there's something rubbing me the wrong way, but there was the thing where I misread jamie on early days when he was pr, so I'll come back later. I'm also getting something from maniac, his comment about my post (at least I think that was it? prove me wrong if I am) I didn't like, he should be better than this.
##vote maniac
and I have to go or I'm late to work
Also, as a meta point as I don't know if you've played with scum Bona before, I think Vecna put it well:
Bona's behavior at least merits some suspicion from a meta perspective.

So where does Bona fit within your perception right now? Annoying town or loud and annoying mafiaso?

Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
What caused worcej and myself to move down your list?
Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
It's gugg. Some people think it's goog or gee-hug, but they're wrong.
Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
He also never responded to you changing your mind.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 5:09 pmI am not sure I buy this post progression. You made a prediction noting you were "catching up", then as soon as your prediction is verified, you suddenly stop responding to posts in order. Also, it seems you have now progressed past my question about Kakarroto's post and have ignored it.worcej wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 2:36 pmAh. Here it is.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:09 amI changed my mind, I think it would be advantageous for town to mass claim items, because I think we would have a high probability of catching the 3P before he gets his required items. However, I am confident that it would be impossible to get a consensus on this.

caught for the wrong reasons?damo666 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 4:56 pmI have mostly agreed with your posts this game but you are way off the mark here.Vecna wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 4:15 pmim wondering actually if this was Damo's bussing post.
Shortly after it he finds reasons to vote someone else, I think - but he's setting himself up so he can bus Bona potentially.
Im fitting the narritive, but it fits quite well. The sudden scumread on Bona feels quite strong for no real reason, but thats exactly how I feel scum would navigate the bus here.
I'll make you an offer. Tell me whether to move my vote back to Bona or not. I promise to comply.

Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
This post highlights how mindless your voting process was. Neither Bona and Snowy had justified their votes as part of reads so even giving that they have good reads, I see little reason to follow them here.foodcoats wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:25 pmBona and snowy are two on people that I’ve aggressively miskilled as town.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 7:52 amWhy snowy? It looks like you are trying to pocket him.
Also I think they both have good reads in general.
Also I didn’t want to inflate the ghug wagon so sheeped my other shepherd.

Ouch! That stings more than a little bit.
However, strong point on the "justified their votes" component.
Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
On foodcoats, I want to comment that
1) He said he would sheep Bona or I before the game started
2) If he rolled scum, following that procedure thoughtlessly may well be exactly what he would do anyway
Still chewing on that myself

Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
oh, I was unaware of that little bit of pre-game banter. Not sure if it changes too much since he was all justifying it n stuff.
Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
I agree, hence point 2, but it's worth noting I think
Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
I guess nobody has thoughts on Hamilton Brian.
Which is fine, I suppose, as he miraculously appeared as soon as his name was mentioned.

Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
I would appreciate it if you highlighted specific posts when making accusations like this as it leaves me to try and guess what you're saying.Macca573 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:44 pmI have a particular reason for the snowy read, it's not just one of my vibe reads. I believe that he scumslipped in those posts with bozo, but you're welcome to disagree.
I'm going to assume you were talking about the line:
My hesitancy on pushing this as a scum slip is that the wording of the town role PM makes it sound like Chaqa is the leader of the infiltrators and thus 3p are not addressed. I only realized it was false after having more thoroughly read the set-up. The one point I will give is that Snowy seemed to have read the set-up as he had asked a previous question about the hammer.
Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
A little provocatively framed, but I like the perspective. Snowy looking slightly better.snowy801 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 1:53 pmI have a theory. I think you're all deep learning bots building on top of the first take anyone puts in the game, and snowball it to exponential explosions.
I suppose there's a certain irony to going to sleep accusing you all of not asking questions, and waking up to the same.
I actually town read worcej, but there's little value in questioning early scum reads. It usually just amounts to "I don't like something."celaph wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 9:52 amSnowy! Why did you question Bona's disagreement, but not Vecna's original comment? Does anything in worcej's comments seem scummy to you?snowy801 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 11:43 pmAt this time I note Jamiet has left without stating his reason for scum reading ghug. A convenient timing? Time will tell.
Bona! On what grounds would you state that worcej's few initial posting does not already feel scummy? Does any of his comments stand out as towny to you?
There is much greater value in asking about someone's denial of another read. I've been trying to teach (some) of you how to think past surface level thoughts to extract value in people's posts, and it usually boils down to understanding the state of mind from which certain posts can be made.
In this particular, anyone can "feel" a person is scummy or towny, that is natural. But it is important to remember that nobody (but scum) knows with certainty to be true, so you need several additional degrees of confidence (which is still not much) to reject someone else's opinion on a matter, and so early on when there is the least information the thoughts of someone trying to negate another's reads is much more meaningful than someone presenting their own thoughts.
That being said, it's difficult to parse these from people who are just inexplicably confident, but I don't have a problem with what Bona had to say.
Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
Wait now I have to know, what is this supposed scum slip you're assuming? Because I can't see it, assuming you understand Macca correctly.
Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
What makes the questions suck exactly?BobMcBob wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 3:26 pmbecause the questions sucked?worcej wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 2:55 pmStill kinda vibey but with a little more.BobMcBob wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 5:22 amreal talk here, maccas openness to a massclaim bodes well-ish
bona is cool, but still a huge wildcard at this point
i like the tone, but that doesnt mean much
im also just really not vibing with snowy
seems a little too tense and asks too many questions without giving much content
i do have a natural inclination to dislike those kinds of players but still, dont like it
i appreciate jamies presence and tone, nothing more
do not have a read there
Why is asking too many questions bad? I've never seen you apply this reasoning to other notorious question askers.
none of them felt like they were actually trying to accomplish anything
they were just... there
and ill have you know i caught scum in champs d1 with this logic
nobody else caught them
just me
still annoyed about that one
Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
Simply trying to impress on Vecna he is wrong.
