Damo's question will be 18, by my count.

1. Fictional
2. Human or near-human in appearance
3. Exists in a world where "magic" exists
4,7,8,9,12,14,16,17. First appeared in a non-superhero comic strip that is no longer running (not a [non-graphic] novel or a children's book) primarily meant to be read by its audience
5,6,10. Introduced after the birth of Queen Elizabeth II, but not after the birth of William, Prince of Wales (current heir, apparently)
11. First appearance not in a US publication before Queen Elizabeth II ascended the throne
13. It appears that this character appeared in a movie that grossed at least $100 million at the US (domestic) box office
15. This character did not first appear in a comic that is a spin-off, expanded universe, official fan-fiction, etc, of another major franchise

NOT
Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon (Red Neurax)
Jon Arbuckle (Pengwinja)

Do one or more of the following apply to this character?

1) Character is female

2) Character was first introduced outside the US or UK

3) Character does not talk (to be clear, this excludes non-verbal communication like pointing and such)

I've had this on my "list" for a while. It ended up as one of the hardest rounds I've ever QMed - both because of the weirdness of the character itself, along with the slightly murky origins of the character. (Thing was first mentioned in the original cartoon version of the Addams Family, but did not actually appear as a disembodied hand until the television show.)

Is this entity human or near-human in appearance?
Yes.
Going into the round, I had decided to answer "Yes" to questions that used "human" as an adjective (Thing is clearly a human hand), but "No" to questions that would have used "human" (or "human being") as a noun. (You can see why I asked for clarity in questions.)

First introduced in a work primarily meant to be read by its audience?
Yes.
Another hard question. Apart from the issue of whether comics are "read" (I settled on yes for that), this question asked about introduction - not first appearance of the character.

Anyways, these (and a few other question/answers) were somewhat misleading. I am very impressed that you figured this out. Well done!

Is it a multiball round? I have my own multiball idea (I usually wouldn't go with a multiball so soon after DreamTrawler's excellent bird round, but you do point out it is a special occasion).

This may have been lost in all of the chatter afterwards, but Mimi is offering to pass off QM duties for this round to anyone who wants it.

I will take it if no one else wants it (I have no fancy round 500 plans), but it could be a good opportunity for someone who doesn’t have a bunch of wins to get a QM round
