Hey, it's our old friend Kaiser Willie I. I've missed him.

No. (And maybe you will be able to figure out how I got tripped up...)

@Spartaculous for the sake of determining the birth date, does Massachusetts Bay count as Massachusetts?
Yes, but this is moot now.

Is this person well-known for their travels outside of Europe? Whether expeditionary, missionary, diplomatic, or military in nature.

This person did travel outside of Europe, but I would not classify those travels as necessarily being part of the person's primary claim to fame.

actually scratch and replace with:

Is this individual primarily famous for exploration or religion, or is this individual female, or both?

Yes.

I think that might be 19 Qs? If so, I will allow two more questions (to compensate for my errors earlier), so that's one more question before free guesses.

No.

Here is a very small hint (I may or may not give another, and definitely not before free guesses are exhausted): To clean up the confusion before, this person was born inside the Kingdom of Prussia in the German Empire. (I saw that the person was born in the "German Empire", which made me answer "No" to the Prussia question; I hadn't realized that the Kingdom of Prussia continued on as part of the German Empire after the event in the picture that Aristocrat kindly provided for us. I learned something today!)

Yes! Very good.

He is best known for his "First they came..." quote/poem.
