Although I'm not sure Howard Hughes was "primarily" known for his involvement in the film industry, it was one of his multiple sources of fame.

I will go ahead and say that I did very much consider hemming and hawing at the "Primarily known for involvement in film?" question. Also, my definition of film is a very broad one.
