Born in the Middle East or Central Asia as defined by the green area on Wikipedia, or what is currently Afghanistan, Pakistan, Poland, or Germany?

Is this supposed to mean 1964-1996? (Clarification)

Either born in Africa, or primarily known for the arts (but not both)?
Yes.
It seems like my answer has been misleading, so I will change this to a pass. I will say - I interpreted this question as "primarily known for involvement in the arts."

Sharbat Gula (subject of the famous ‘Afghan Girl’ photo) is correct! I hope I didn’t lead you all down a misleading rabbit hole. See also Round 196 (Lisa del Giocondo) for a different famous portrait subject.

I also had to look up whether the Nikon FM2 was electronic or mechanical. Seems like it was both?
