The Fatal Lick

He closed the door behind him with a smile. His dog sitting next to him, wagging his tail. "Who is a good boy?" he asked him, "you are a good boy!" he answered himself and petted his dog's head. This earned him a friendly woof and even more tail wagging. They then proceeded to go into the living room, where he sat down in his armchair.

With a happy smile he reminiscent the walk through the park just now, how he played with his dog and met other dogowner and their good boys. He also met the newly arrived lady with her labrador. A bit young for him with her fifty summers, but they chatted very affectionatly. Maybe he invites her and her dog over some time.

"Woof! Woof!" he heard next to him and a head weight down on his lap. He proceeded to pet his dog again, and that was the usual cue and the dog came close, slurped and slobbered over his owners face with great affection.

He laughed happily, for his life was great and he felt better then ever, as if nothing could ruin his day. His dog was happy, he had a great future, and no worries in life. He felt like he could life another happy fourty years.

The man who died because his dog licked him

-) happened in 2018, in Bremen, Germany

-) a healthy, 63 year old man, in good physical shape and in no risk group

-) caught the bacteria capnocytophaga canimorsus from his dog after being licked

-) no bite report was filed nor bite wounds found

-) he was only the second ever known case to have died from the bacteria by pure salvia exposition
