Make this even simpler

The doctor cannot submit their name at night as the person they choose to VISIT and save

The doctor is not choosing a role to save they are choosing a player

You cant say as doctor
“Id like to save bench”

For example. A doctor in these rules would have to be able to save someone benched therefore they save a player

In fact I wouldn't mind everybody answering this. It's quite an interesting exercise.

I would want the scum to be daykilled and roleblocked so I'd put three of them in positions 2, 3, and 10. I'd probably put my fourth scum pick in position 9.

I would want town to have useful powers so I'd put them in positions 1, 7 and 9.

I would leave my nulls on the bench.

I don't think you read the response correctly, your question was misinterpreted as the same player occupying slots 1, 6, and 8.

The question clearly said 1, 7 and 8.

If a person was Flex, and randomly got a vest that is not a doc action. A vest is a 1 shot defense aaginst dying. That is one scenario where the doc could survive an attack. However the vest is at random and not guaranteed to be obtained. The flex player will learn what they get at start of night. If they were hypothetically all these roles; and had a vest: then it would mean the TE would not die as the vest would take priority over the TE having to die in docs stead.

Sorry for the complex answer but yes; in that rare scenario where someone is qb-dst-flex the TE survives IF the Flex got the vest that night AND was targeted by mafia.

So, as I said ages ago the NK will almost certainly be from the bench or positions 2 or 3.

Roster management should take this into account.

I am not sure I understand how the rules are being interpreted by everyone. I am assuming that the player in the TE slot would be NKed if a player occupying the watcher/JOAT/Doctor slots is targeted for the NK.

The TE will die in this example unless the FLEX item was the vest.
The rationale is because the player was targeted who happens to be these various roles; since the DST cannot die and the TE dies in their place; the doc would survive and TE would perish.’
Mafia are targeting a player not a role; thus the only role here that triggers any role based response to dying comes into effect - the Bodyguards TE saving of the DST.

What if QB is target who just happens to be the same player as D/ST.

I still don't think it is clear.
