What you need is a semi - closed set up or something like that. Then you can have your fun and prevent mass claimsSquigs44 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:31 pmFor people suggesting that PRs should be vanillaized if they claim, that would not have helped here. The PRs powers didn't actually cause any scum to be lynched or any NKs to be stopped.
For people suggesting that roles should be unconfirmable, that would not have helped here. No one was able to be confirmed in this game, it was just a lack of CCs that confirmed people.
For people suggesting that less than 25% of the game needs to be PRs: This is the only thing that would probably stop webdip from massclaiming.

The last closed setup we had was also broken by a semi-massclaim, so the closed setup would still need to be designed well enough to not allow clears.Durga wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:34 pmWhat you need is a semi - closed set up or something like that. I don’t blame people playing the most optimum way to get a win.rdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:27 pmEither this or any other mechanics that make massclaim not advantageous to town.worcej wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:19 pmI think the trick is you cannot have over 25% of the town slots as PR’s - it has to be below that threshold to de-incentivize the claims.Chaqa wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:11 pmI felt really bad subbing out, but I really never was able to read any of day 1 outside the first 8 pages or so. We had a major family issue this week unexpectedly, and it kinda ate up a lot of my time...
When I came back, it was a massclaim and my frustration was quite real. In the end it seemed more prudent to sub out as a protest and since I hadn’t read anything.
I’m boycotting any setup that is able to be broken by mass claim going forward. They’re not fun and they aren’t mafia. They’re boring and anyone who has been pushing for them should be ashamed they continue to ruin games.
You can't blame town to use massclaim if it favours them.
I do blame people who disregard the opinion that mass claims ruin the game for them. When you continue to railroad it under protest of others and their enjoyment, that is pretty rude IMHO
Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
A quick google search of roles for mafia would’ve handled that for you...rdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:28 pmI don't like it too. I got screwed as 3rd party last game because I didn't know what to claim.

Well, good game guys.
And in an ironic twist, I, the one playing their first game, was the only scum not to reveal it.
I hope I can join you all next time!

I hope you can too! It is always nice to have new people join and play with us!

I did learn a lot about balancing a closed setup so I look forward to perfecting it down the road.Squigs44 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:37 pmThe last closed setup we had was also broken by a semi-massclaim, so the closed setup would still need to be designed well enough to not allow clears.Durga wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:34 pmWhat you need is a semi - closed set up or something like that. Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
Unfortunately due to unexpected time constraints I simply could not keep up with the thread and had to settle for one massive post of verbal diarrhea to get rid of scum reads and I played in a way not reflective of how I normally like to play. That being said my impression of the game was that a) the mass claim didn't break the game b) the game could have been won by mafia if they didn't all collectively commit suicide. I think it's underestimated how much the kill plus roleblock mafia global weakens the mass claim early and could have been disastrous if we mislynched a few times.

Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
Funny thing is, I've never been lynched as town, only as mafia. In fact, I've never been NK'd as town either. Apparently I'm quite easy to read in the end.BunnyGo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:15 pmBOB!!! YOU LIVED TO END OF GAME WITHOUT BEING KILLED BY TOWN!!!BobMcBob wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 9:40 pmPlus Chaqa's poor performance meant you had a really hard time getting yourself out of the scumreads too. That was a rough game for scum.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 9:38 pmI do believe that is the worst scum team I have ever been on.
Noob Macca was dead before I even joined the game, Donny just deciding to shit his pants in the middle of the road as soon as he was the lead wagon, and then two - count 'em - TWO consecutive scumslips, courtesy of Flash and Brain.
Dear me, I'm glad that's over.

I still don't understand why I got lynched, could anyone enlighten me?

Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
To be honest, when I subbed in after you'd been lynched, I looked back over your posts and you didn't look *that* bad. I recall asking exactly why you had been lynched and I didn't get much of an answer. Partly, your wagon took off so late that some people may have joined it on pure gut because they town-read someone else who was also getting votes.Macca573 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 11:18 pmYeah...

Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
Squigs: re the setup, I was actually looking forwards to the partial reveal mechanic, as it meant that scum could more easily cc town claimants - it's just a pity that scum nerfed themselves the way it did lol
Like for example, had scum both claimed a NK'd role, they could've towncleared one of themselves.

I quite openly only voted you because it was you vs Bozo and I had a strong townread on Bozo. I don't know about others.Macca573 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 11:18 pmYeah...

Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
I think Worcej's game was very complicated for a closed setup. I don't think closed setups are bad, per se.
Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
@Macca you were unlucky. My last minute vote on you clinching the lynch was simply because (like HR) I strongly scumread Bozo.Macca573 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 11:18 pmYeah...

The rest of your team (sub apart) were silly chumps.
@Squigs the set up was fine.

I voted you because your reluctance to claim doesn't seems towny, specially a VT. You didn't object the claim but didn't know what to do, which is simple for a town, just say the truth.Macca573 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 11:18 pmYeah...
