Agreed. Best not to waste it on random shots in case it hits town again. Assuming EMC isn't vig, we still have up to two shots (vig and item smith gun) + I believe the mind stone has a CD of one turn or phase, so we can afford being patient.

Looking back, I dislike Jamie's vote and voting logic.

He literally stated that ND was different. That's it. He specifically stated that ND was also NOT in his scum meta which should render the change NAI. Yet he starts a wagon on it.

If we look at his only reads post

I will assume everyone is voting for a scum read. Please fill in any missing information:

Why was Jamie scumreading bozo you ask? Good idea, because I cant tell. The only time he MENTIONS bozo is to ask him to drop the survey. This is lhf to the max


Conclusion: Jamie's votes and scum reads do not add up. His reasoning to scumread ND was also deplorably weak.

This looks pretty weird considering Jamie just claimed he had a gun a few pages ago. The vig target was also worcej, which backs up his claim.

Why would the vig shoot worcej when Jamie was the only one scumreading him?

I answered this in my response to Brain's case on me, but I'll sum it up here as well. I had a strong townread on you and brain, and wasn't super confident in my bozo read.

Regarding following your vote, allow me to discuss a bit of my theory on the game:

It's easier to find town than it is to find scum. As such, instead of scum hunting, I find it more reliable to "town hunt." That is, I try to find obvtown people, put them in my town core, then vote outside of that core. If you read through the endgame of M47, you'll see that bozo and I developed a really strong town core. We unfortunately included a scum in that, which was in part our downfall, but it was working really well.

I did this to great effect in a mafia game offsite, wherein 3 of us all townread each other then started working together by compromising on our lynch targets. We ended up winning.

People are always scared of working together in mafia bcz they'll get called out on buddying, but I find it's one of the most consistent and reliable ways to win. Scumreads are always hit or miss imo, but it's really hard for scum to fake an obvtown.

So, with all of that in consideration, and recalling that I had you and brain as strong townreads, I decided to go with your votes. It didn't work out this time, but I intend to keep doing that. If I can get a working relationship with a few others, we can start to form a town voting block. It'll force scum to either fight against us (and reveal themselves in the process), or kill members of the town block (giving town cred to the others in the block).

It's admittedly a lofty strategy, but it pays dividends if you get a town block set up by the late game.
