Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
I'm starting to think I waste way too much time on these things that no one gets lol
Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
Yes, starting from Macca's first post that entire section came off as rather odd, but I don't quite know who or what yet.
Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
Heh, I ain't getting modkilled again Jamie, don't worry.
Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
Probably wise! I kept notes all through my first few games, I found it helped me keep track of everything. A lot of cases can - and are - built upon who interacts with who and what they think of them. Voting plays into this as well but the bot takes care of it.

Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
Probably good to put this out for clarification and whatnot. When I say newer players it's you, RCotton, JB, Flyingboat (utterly new, no useable meta), plus more experienced but still "new"; Bob, Bismarck, and Donny.
Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
I think damo is town, Chaqa is town. Feeling decent about xorx and Bob. A lil' bit questioning at worce and Vecna but more the former than latter and it'll probably be gone by tomorrow lol.

I'm told the meta here is to vote against EMC. Can you confirm the accuracy of that? Time to catch up on this thread...

Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
so did I! Bye, bye, love American Pie...
Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
HR and Durga are both returning players that I haven't played with and don't really have meta on, so we shall see, anyways hi and welcome back :D
Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
I hadn't actually realised that, good to know. I thought I was relatively twitchy both ways, M51 I thought was pretty touchy, but I can't quite remember.e.m.c^42 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 2:58 amI will say this in defense of Bob - he's a lot more laid back as scum, and more twitchy as town.Hellenic Riot wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 12:16 amThese certainly appear to move faster than they used to; or I'm just getting old.
Most notable thing thus far seems to be how rapidly Donny backed off his early read of emc being town for plus oneing a lot (I mean sure, I'd rapidly back off that read too, that reasoning is awful). The reaction to the slightest hint of pressure was pretty poor though methinks.
Bob was also a tad touchy when brainbomb made the mafia chat joke to macca; seemed very quick to slap it down which jars out a bit compared to the rest of the tone of the game.
Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
Will say that though, early few xorxes seemed more jocular than usual, our dearest damo has made me on sharp edge paranoia when it comes to shifts like this lol

Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
So far one common thread had been the debate over mass claims which I think is a terrible idea. The double buddy NK means letting mafia figure out who the buddy pairs are very dangerous. Finding out who the buddyless people are through PR claims are an easy way for them to narrow the list down and get a couple double NKs which could be potentially lethal to our ability to win. I'm in favor of playing the game without a mass claim where we gain little useful info.
Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
Hah! Well, that depends. Do you have any multis that play mafia here under a different name? ;pTheFlyingBoat wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 3:42 amI'm told the meta here is to vote against EMC. Can you confirm the accuracy of that? Time to catch up on this thread...
Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
Hm, wonder where bozo went, is he not usually posted at this point in game? Hope he's doing all right.

Donny Dude and Brainbomb high on my initial scum list based on this post.Donny Dude wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 10:20 pmAre you suggesting a massclaim or more of a confidant type claim?
By confidant how would we get everyone to speak truthfully or at all to their buddies about their roles?

Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
Yeah, I'm actually every single other player in this game from Chaqa to Brain bomb. Unfortunately from what I can tell the previous pages is a ton of noise and very little signal. I'm curious to see what info people's powers turn up.e.m.c^42 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 3:59 amHah! Well, that depends. I'm new so I'm trying to understand. Why does this make you think this Bismark?BismarckAlive wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 4:06 amDonny Dude and Brainbomb high on my initial scum list based on this post.Donny Dude wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 10:20 pmAre you suggesting a massclaim or more of a confidant type claim?

Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
My guess is that he looks at it this way. If you assume the townfolk are truthful you'll have a lot of townspeople giving valuable information to the mafia which will pool it and a lot of unpooled misinformation going to individual townspeople which will prejudice their views and unlike a mass claim which is also stupid doesn't give the entire town a chance to "solve" the game. I tend to agree that it is scummy though if I had to guess one is scum and one is a useful idiot. Which is which I do not know.Macca573 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 4:10 amI'm new so I'm trying to understand. Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
Really? Why would this be good for Town? Worcej scum-slipped by following this bait and burying himself with it.worcej wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 10:57 pmWhy not - let a few days run off and remove 3 town pairs. It'll be 8-5 at that point.xorxes wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 10:55 pmAre you serious? why would we prefer scum to kill two townies at a time and give up our shot at lynching scum?worcej wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 10:51 pmRight, so forcing our PR's to expose themselves (minus a letter for some of them) is worth it for 8 clears and 12 unknowns?
If you're willing to do that, why don't we just no lynch and claim our buddies? Scum can slowly pick off two of us and narrow down the pool that way instead.
