Re: Fantasy Simulator I Official Game Thread
I can come back and vote during this turn, or I can go scout another location. So technically I can still vote if I decide to come back.
Re: Fantasy Simulator I Official Game Thread
This is very generous of you, Avendi. At the moment, that will only see us through one phase so we certainly need a more sustainable source of income. I will begin to make contact with those in our vicinity as soon as I can in the hopes of finding someone with whom we can trade. However, with the knowledge of your funding offer for at least one phase, I will support your proposal.WarLegend wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 3:31 pmYou're definitely right we need money. Like I said, I know some of us have some money so far, I wouldn't mind financing it for a few turns if everyone agrees that it is important, but we do need our own money stream some point soon because I can't do it indefinitely.
##Vote Yea - Proposal 1.1 Hire Melnir as a specialist

- To Melnir - You are a long, long way from home, friend. I know there are many of us who would be pleased to have you join us as you try to make a new one. However, you will understand that these decisions need to be made in the proper manner, in order to protect the integrity of our fledgling Barony. We will put a formal proposal to our Council and will inform you of its decision as soon as we are able.
Re: Fantasy Simulator I Official Game Thread
Any action taking you out of 14, 11 for the phase revokes voting ability. They can still post in thread and send a dove with information learned.Kench wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 4:06 pmWaaaaait wait wait. Emilau, please can you confirm what's gone on with Avendi going scouting and not being able to vote? I read what you put on Discord before and thought I was recommending that Avendi head out because it did not remove his voting ability:
As you can see, where it says "scout an adjacent tile" it says nothing about voting ability. And the opposite is true for Xanthor. That's why I recommended it that way around. Could you clarify the situation for us?Emilau - Today at 1:43 AM
DARMOR ACTIONS
Avendi -
Options
A. Scout immediate area(lose voting abilities but you may still post findings in thread)
B. Scout into an adjacent tile
C. Hunt
D. Train

Xanthor -
Options
A. Hunt (+1 food to colony, you cannot take another action)
B. Scout area (uses your action)
C. Scout an adjacent Tile (cannot vote)

Vote yes on proposal 1.1
We know how much this group loyal to us - we have seen Grogg, RIP he was a good orc. Given we selected Darmor, we need to find workers because the best way to earn money for us is trading our ores.

We need a colony name
Our research plans
And it appears Avendi has unlocked Art in our research tree from a discovery in 14,10

Yay Art. I can scout another area, keep scouting the tile I am on (14,10) or come back. If I keep scouting I'm going to be out of the Barony for the turn and can't vote or presumably help if something happens. Any idea's?
Also, I didn't realize I can only pay for 1 turn of the Dwarves. Maybe its not as useful as I thought.

Re: Fantasy Simulator I Official Game Thread
Also, unless someone else has a better idea: I'll put in a Proposal to research Agriculture.
Re: Fantasy Simulator I Official Game Thread
Falrin has left the colony to establish a spy network in Narmor
He cannot vote this phase
Falrin has opted to remain in Narmor to discover more
He cannot vote next phase either

Re: Fantasy Simulator I Official Game Thread
Given that we have only seven Councillors now that Darvish has topped himself, that his Eminence Judge Liberatius is yet to make a real appearance and that Falrin is in Narmor for the next two phases, I think we are going to be a little hard-pressed for able voters (just four) back in the Barony if you stay in 14,10 this turn. We would effectively need to ensure that any proposals we made this turn were unanimous agreements (based on the fact that we need three positive votes for a proposal even to be considered). Having you with us (i.e. five voters) would give us a greater chance of actually making some decisions I think.Yay Art. I can scout another area, keep scouting the tile I am on (14,10) or come back. Otherwise, I am in agreement about researching Agriculture and I am overjoyed at our early discovery of Art - hopefully this will continue to make us an attractive prospect for any foreign relations.

Rude, actually.Narmor rejects Andoryn because he is already married.
But I like that he's offering friendship.
As for what we have to trade, I've had a look at the resources and I really don't think we have anything to trade except the iron (1). I'm not desperate to get rid of that straight away, given that we've only just picked it up, but we don't need it immediately and Narmor doesn't have any iron. We might well be able to get him to buy the iron from us, which would temporarily sort the cashflow issue for Melnir. But I'm open to your thoughts, Councillors! What do we have to Trade?

Re: Fantasy Simulator I Official Game Thread
I have no idea what happened pregame and I have no idea if I'm even still in the game, but I am finally out of a month of total hell and would love to be caught back up. Can anyone provide a tl;dr that gets me going in the right direction?
Re: Fantasy Simulator I Official Game Thread
I am not a fan of committing our resources to researching agriculture if we are in an Arctic region, which it would seem we are. We need to focus on finding food sources that already exist and constructing a settlement that gives us shelter and protection from whatever we may run into in the near future, not to mention heat.
If researching construction is not amenable, I would secondarily suggest sailing so that we may begin trading for food that is more easily accessible in other regions.

Re: Fantasy Simulator I Official Game Thread
Would we be able to get a ship built up in time to make it to the first winter? My biggest concern is getting some food up ASAP because we won't have enough for the next phase.bo_sox48 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 10:50 pmI am not a fan of committing our resources to researching agriculture if we are in an Arctic region, which it would seem we are. Emilau: Lumber Mills require forest nearby...we have forest at 17, 14 and further. It appears wood is not abundant up here in the Darmor flats.RagingIke297 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 11:00 pmWhat tech do we need for a lumber mill, would we know?
We have marshes here and coastline a tile away.
Darmor has lots of food.
Radical proposal. How would you all feel like... moving to the ruins Avendi found?
Like... pack up colony and move to 14,10
Settle in ancient ruins and... fish the sea.
