Born in a location that is now a part of a country that is a color besides grey on this map? (Irrespective of whether the map itself is detailed to actually show the location, eg if the person was born in China then it would count as “yes” even if some minor outlying island that they were actually born on is not identifiable on the map)

Oops... sorry... the answer to the above question should have been "Yes.". My apologies. (Don't read anything into my mistake.) I will consider the following question scratched.

So that’s US, India, China, North Korea, South Africa, Russia (Asian portion), and I suppose any overseas territories of the European countries that are in North America, Asia, or Africa.

Kazakhstan, Israel, Turkey, and Pakistan are eliminated on account of being more Muslim than India.

I don't know what the map you put represents, but it appears to have a small country in South America colored as well. French Guiana, Suriname or Guyana? I suppose if it's French Guiana it's covered by your above statement.

I would ask is from India or China solely for higher populations, but the confusion of the GM might indicate a vaguer birth place. Korean born in what is now North maybe? Or active in Soviet central Asia but born in today's Russia?
-not a question-

It's French Guiana, but we already know this person was born in North America, Asia, or Africa.

Was this person born in what is currently the United States, but not the Northeast as defined by the US Census?

note the GM saying not to read anything into it; it's more likely imo that spartaculous read the question at first as "part of a country that is grey" instead of "a color besides grey", or something similar.

Let's not do any more French Guiana rounds - the Félix Éboué round was pretty stressful.

If yes, involved in American Civil War
If no, born in 19th century?
