1. Real human
3,10. Either born in South America or alive in 1935, or both; not a holder of elected office, a native speaker of a Semitic language, primarily famous for written works, a known atheist, an Oscar winner, or the sibling of a previous 20 Questions answer (born 1870-1900 eliminated by another question)
4,5,6. Alive for at least one day that Kirk Douglas was also alive for; not born before Dalton Trumbo's birth on 9 December 1905, or after 1936
7,11. Not born in Eurasia, or in a place that was, at any point, part of the British Empire
9. Born in a location that is now part of a country whose common English name begins with S, K, U, B, R, I, C
8. Primarily known for the arts (broadly speaking), athletics, science, or invention
2. First name (or only name) does not begin with S, P, A, R, T, C, U, L, or O

So, for possible birthplaces we have Benin, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon (Francophone portion), Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Chile, Colombia, Comoros, Congo (DR), Congo (Republic), Costa Rica, Cuba, Indonesia (Oceanian portion), Ivory Coast, Kiribati, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Somalia (not Somaliland), Spain (African portion), Suriname, United States (west of the Mississippi, and territories), and Uruguay.

Was this mystery person (1) born in a location that is now part of the country that Spartacus (1960) was largely filmed in (the USA), or (2) primarily known for a profession that would have been involved in the making of Spartacus such as acting, directing, screenwriting, producing, etc., or (3) both?

Was this person still alive when the film "Spartacus" was surpassed by "Airport" as the biggest money-making film in the history of Universal Studios?

This person was born 1905-1935, so they would have been roughly 35-65 in 1970. Seems pretty unlikely for the answer to be anything other than "yes".

It's perfectly possible for someone to become famous and die before the age of 65.

I don't mean it's impossible, just that if the answer is "yes" it doesn't narrow it down that much.

I've been enjoying the themed questions, but you're still a bit away from the answer, I think. So, I will allow two additional questions. I will also offer a hint to say that, once you know who I picked, you will know why I made the pick.
