Thanks for the summary, but I believe your wording of the answer to question 9 feels confusing. It is still possible that the person was alive in 1980, but if so then they were still alive in 1990.

With that said, next question: was this person alive for 5 years or more of the 21st Century?

No. Note that he is alive, and we are looking for someone dead. Since you're new to the game, I will refund your guess (you still have a free guess).

I think we’re still doing conditional questions, so:

Primarily known for involvement in music, literature, or film?

If yes - Ryuichi Sakamoto?

If no - primarily known for involvement in manga, anime, or video games?

Conditional questions, not conditional guesses

Edit:
1. Only binary (yes/no) questions may be asked. Conditional questions are allowed, but conditional guesses are NOT allowed.

Today is our fourth wedding anniversary, so Mrs. Sparty and I have some breakfast and lunch plans on either side of church this morning and afternoon. So, I'll be away from this for a few hours - I'll be very impressed, though not totally shocked, if someone gets a correct guess by then.

I'll put in a free guess for Jiroemon Kimura

If not him: Is this person primarily known for the arts or sciences?
