I think he unintentionally signed me up, but I’m gonna roll with it! Was going to just let him do a game, but we might as well rip off the bandaid and give playing in the same game a go!BunnyGo wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 3:37 amDid you consent to brain signing you up?

This is among the games I’d not play with my spouse.GlitterBomb wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 10:17 pmI think he unintentionally signed me up, but I’m gonna roll with it! Was going to just let him do a game, but we might as well rip off the bandaid and give playing in the same game a go!

Ok, now Bridgette is funny! I like that!BunnyGo wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 1:23 amThis is among the games I’d not play with my spouse.GlitterBomb wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 10:17 pmI think he unintentionally signed me up, but I’m gonna roll with it! It’s different than F2F werewolf/mafia.
Diplomacy and bridge are on that list (honestly I’d love to play bridge with her, but she made clear very early on she never would play it with me; she used to call it Bridgette, the other woman, because I played so much).
But you know your relationship with games and spouse. Mine would not enjoy playing forum mafia either way, but would get real angry with me while playing with me.

More importantly - you mentioned being on bed rest. Are you recovering ok? How’s it going?BunnyGo wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 1:23 amThis is among the games I’d not play with my spouse.GlitterBomb wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 10:17 pmI think he unintentionally signed me up, but I’m gonna roll with it! Saw PCP yesterday, he says long term prognosis is optimistic without major intervention. Will know more in a week as medications and other treatments kick in. He expects weeks to months until full recovery.GlitterBomb wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 2:24 amMore importantly - you mentioned being on bed rest. Are you recovering ok? In grad school my partner and I were playing 10-20 hours a week plus travel to weekend (every couple months) or week+ long (1-2 times a year) tournaments. His now wife coined it.

Sounds like you get to focus on healing, that’s awesome. But easier said than done. I personally feel like having to be pretty inactive and not do much can be sooo difficult. Keeping your spirits up is key. We were rooting for the Royals, what’s your team?BunnyGo wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 3:34 amSaw PCP yesterday, he says long term prognosis is optimistic without major intervention. So my autumn has been boring for me. And scary at times. And my poor wife has to both work, nurse me, deal with recalcitrant preteens and everyone’s schedules, the holidays, and all the house chores I’m not doing. So…I’ve been watching a lot of baseball for the first time in years and crocheting a blanket. Is easier now that I’m less scared of being permanently disabled or needing major surgery. And I’m fortunate to have nice insurance (both health and disability) and coworkers who are covering all my deadlines. As I work for an insurance company, this has been an interesting perspective I’ve not seen before.

Yeah…boredom has sunk in. And been too distracted to focus on books. So variant sudoku puzzles, low stakes tv shows, and crocheting has gotten me a lot of mindless days.GlitterBomb wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 4:57 amSounds like you get to focus on healing, that’s awesome. Also kudos to you for crocheting! I’m gonna do a few blankets for the kids this winter.
