The "hippo, horse, or arachnid" should never have been in the summary. The "yes" answers to both "human, horse, or hippopotamus" and "human or arachnid" mean that logically, it can only be a human.
Anyway, we now know this character had an unknown creator. Probably a folk tale character of some sort.

Minor correction: the "not primarily known for politics, sports, or the arts" thing only applied to real humans, which we now know this character is not.
