GM Note:
An important question came through that I'd like to publicly address:
If a mafia targets the daykill, do they lose their shot? Is it just holstered?
In the event the mafia player would shoot the top wagon right before EOD, the next highest wagon, if one existed, would be the daykill.

Example:
  • ghug is the leading wagon with 6 votes
  • Chaqa shoots ghug exactly 1 second before day ends and the GM sees that come through before the GM posts the EOD post.
  • Eden was the second highest wagon at 3 votes
  • EOD would process with Eden being the top wagon with 3 votes while the other 6 votes would be on an invalid target (but not breaking the participation rule FWIW)

Came home a day early from the woods.

I find kaka trying to fill the thread with german. Why kaka? stop it kaka. BAD kaka! ##vote kaka

And is everyone else in a clock land that means they aren't posting yet?

Gonna pass out hard tonight.
Bad Bunny. You need a bit of German in your soul.
Pass. Never cared to learn Yiddish either. Just a couple good insults.

"mittlepunct" and "gittlepunct" were the only words I ever needed to learn for school.

When I was a young child, a family friend gave me the nickname bloß because he read it in some article about "mit augen bloßen" or something like that and he thought it was funny looking.

When the internet came along and I needed a unique handle online I thought I'd use that childhood nickname that was some random german word that surely nobody would be using as a handle.

Imagine my surprise when I constantly had trouble getting it. Needed to add my birthday or something to ever be able to get it.

Wasn't until I was in college that I bothered looking up what it meant. Imagine my surprise I was competing for the handle with a bunch of German perverts looking for the handle "naked".

For the record I just finished grocery shopping, something I hate to do when I should be staying home.

Looking forward to nap time.

To clarify, this isn't german, this is Österreichische (or maybe Bavarian) Mundart, the words of my people. So trying to translate them with only german knowledge looks quite too funny to me

He wants to eat the path? S'mores?

He can dance nice?

I think he starts talking about math (lambada=lambda?).
the correct translation into english here is:

"Oh, he's gone now. It's a bit sad, now I don't have someone to dance here.

Or is someone else here? I can dance various kinds of dances, [Austrian slang phrase that's used for emphasis]. A little bit of a waltz, or a Lambada [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lambada ] I can do, or something else to dance too. Somebody just has to come forth, and we can begin. Right?"

Don't know where you get the 'eat the path'

And I think everybody should know a lambada.

Lol, here he tells a funny joke and then votes me for not laughing.
"No, I think that doesn't work. MM [MadMonarch] wouldn't be here too soon. And I don't want to vote sweetandcool [->süßundkühl (ger) -> sias nd küh (aut)], because nobody else is here. So what else to do? Maybe it's better to change to sweetandcool, he ignores me anyway. Alright then, lets go."

I don't know where you saw the funny joke, and I didn't vote you for not laughing

and I already told you, the naked part is the less frequently used of 'bloß'. If someone would want to point out that someone is naked, most of the time they would use "nackt" ... striking resemblence, right? "Bloß" is something else; something in it's pure core, or for it's pure essence. Best translated it would be probably "Just", as in "Just so". "JustAnImpostorNamedWill" would be probably "BloßEinHochstaplerNamensWillie". Sure, the use of "bloßer Haut", which is "just skin" would point to nakedness a bit, but definitely not in the way an english speaker would use naked.

Also, what the heck is a "Gittlepunkt"?

You work with Hearthrob together, if I'm not wrong? any special insight there for the moment?

I was pretending to not understand.

I mean, I understood some of that.

Like about me leaving.

But I pretended that "issa" was "isst". So then it seemed like you were talking about having eaten the way or path or something.

Thanks for translation though, it clarifies the part about the different dances, which I was totally lost about.

I see a lot of meaningless chunter about Austrian and German filler-posting.

Minor scumlean on Kak for deliberately flooding the thread with crap that he could thereafter debate the linguistic nuances of, therefore increasing the noise-to-signal ratio.

I’m guessing because of clock-lands or zones of time that make it difficult or unlikely to be posting now. Not all our European compatriots are nightowls like you and Jamie.

Yes, we worked closely together for over a year. Not really? He’s very insightful. Quiet when new to a community. He’s played scum capably a couple times. I didn’t catch him in our last game, but the community did with some mech help. He had me fooled to the very end.
