From the Book of Mormon (or other Mormon stuff) or from Mesoamerica (a Mayan, etc.) or a hypothesized serial killer (whose victims may have in reality been killed by multiple people)?

It seems like the Mayan religion still exists in some form (from the previous answers I think we’re looking at Mesoamerica here, unless I misunderstood)

never mind, I did misunderstand. The character may not be from Native American mythology after all. Though it’s probably not a Mormon prophet or angel then either.
