Known primarily, or to a significant degree, for involvement in politics, royalty, or nobility?
No.
At least one of the following is true: she was involved in politics or government, she was royalty, she was a noblewoman. And certainly, that fact opened up opportunities for her that she would not have otherwise had. But that fact alone is not what she is primarily known for.

1,2: Real female human being
3,5,9,10: Dead; born in years 101 AD - 1600 AD
4,7: Born in Eurasia; was German, French, or Italian
6: Was involved in politics, royalty, or nobility, but her involvement in that is, strictly speaking, not the source of her fame
8,13: Not known primarily for written works or for being a visual artist
11: A known non-nun
12: Not known for circumstances surrounding her death

Not: Artemisia Gentileschi

Nice. I was about to guess a different art model that I found on a list of famous Italian women, but then I realized that there is a more famous one.

Next one will be up relatively soon.

It is good that you realized that your question

was subtly different than "Was she involved in the visual arts?". (I knew that a question like your was going to come eventually, and I was curious to see how it was going to be phrased.)

Interesting subject. Discovered a new bit of impolite Italian.
