I think you're being a little overly critical of them. They have been wrong plenty but also have been right often as well. Whether it is better than RNG or not is to be debated but regardless no need to be mean about it.snowy801 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 7:15 pmSabi I hope in a few days you'll learn that I was serious about you having a negative heuristic and you are at present better off rolling an RNG than trying to actively scumhunt
Which is not to say that you should not try, and as a whole you're playing fine but your confidence baffles me every time. Mafia isn't always just about being right, as so many are so eager to ever remind me, yet still
I do not believe I've seen you be right about a single thing in the past 4 games
As for being right not being the only thing I'll just bring back this quote:
TheFlyingBoat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 2:39 amI don't know about my actual first mafia game as that was 13 years ago on Smashboards and I've completely forgotten it, but the first me I remember was around a year later on MafiaScum and I will always remember being a furious 13 or 14 year old that no one listened to me and I got the most profound advice ever from someone who was understandably annoyed with me complaining about being right in the EOG as a townie: "Being right counts for shit if you can't convince anyone of it."BesharamSabi wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 2:15 amHow did everyone's first ever game go? Just breaking the ice

I don't think it would be obvious that he would look bad for it, and as I said, my theory was that he was trying to subtly defend ghug.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 10:08 pmWhy do you think lfischl consciously made such an easily disprovable statement (presumably knowing he'd look bad for it)? There must have been a really good reason for it to be so blatant, no? Why is that a more compelling solution than the simpler explanation that lfischl was oblivious and typed something dumb?bozotheclown wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 10:03 pmI said Bonatogether and lfischl being scum together was a possibility, I suspected lfischl for other reasons.
If you read the interactions between lfischl and ghug over lfischl's last 6 games, there is no way lfischl forgot he ever played with ghug. ghug is probably the only player who was in all 6 of those games. As a result, I suspect lfischl had some kind of motivation to make that statement.

But the headline here is "massive flake attempts clever ruse with stupid lie." That doesn't pass a basic sanity check.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 10:12 pmI don't think it would be obvious that he would look bad for it, and as I said, my theory was that he was trying to subtly defend ghug.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 10:08 pmWhy do you think lfischl consciously made such an easily disprovable statement (presumably knowing he'd look bad for it)? The only benefit to your tenacity here is that you look towny for it.

Bozo can you tell me why you got miskilled in your last game?
Re: MAFIA 71: "PAPERS PLEASE" - GAME THREAD [Hidden]
Wouldn't he be more acutely aware of our past interactions — and this how ridiculous his statement would appear — if he were thinking deeply about how to disassociate with me?bozotheclown wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 10:12 pmI don't think it would be obvious that he would look bad for it, and as I said, my theory was that he was trying to subtly defend ghug.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 10:08 pmWhy do you think lfischl consciously made such an easily disprovable statement (presumably knowing he'd look bad for it)? I doubt lfischl put that much thought into it if he is scum, it would be more like a simple mistake scum sometimes make.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 10:17 pmBut the headline here is "massive flake attempts clever ruse with stupid lie." Re: MAFIA 71: "PAPERS PLEASE" - GAME THREAD [Hidden]
ghug had Bonatogether, Squigs, and BesharamSabi fooled and pushed for my DK.
Re: MAFIA 71: "PAPERS PLEASE" - GAME THREAD [Hidden]
I think both of your concerns can easily be explained by the fact that we are considering this a high-engagement game from lfischl.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 9:55 pm
I think lfischl is a good scum candidate, if I had a better idea who the "hard case" mafia were, I would make those cases as well.
How do you explain what lfischl said about ghug? What is your opinion of lfischl addressing what I pointed out about the cat but ignoring what I said about ghug?

What did I do to trigger such hatred from you? Why do you hate me?
Please tell me.
Re: MAFIA 71: "PAPERS PLEASE" - GAME THREAD [Hidden]
What don't downplay it, you were pretty adamant that lfischl and bona could have been voting each other as teammates and used it as part of your justification for your lfischl scumread.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 10:03 pmI said Bonatogether and lfischl being scum together was a possibility, I suspected lfischl for other reasons.
