Part 2 of Bona's adventures with a spreadsheet

We can determine who is a selective interest marked person (a SIMP) by looking at the differential of their posts about a person minus the other person's posts about them. This is not an inherently scummy or towny measure, but may only reveal specific patterns that we can then follow up upon. In a similar way, this post is intended to be part of a series. Full analysis will not be forthcoming here, only a brief skim of the important points.

Total SIMP factor:
1. Sabi (106)
2. Jamie (84)
3. Boat man (56)
4. ghug (21)
5. Chaqa (16)
6. damo (11)
7. pyxxy (10)
8. bona (7)
9. Eden (4)
10. brainbomb (3)
11. Demon (-16)
12. blamp (-21)
13. rdr (-21)
14. Maniac (-26)
15. bozo (-38)
16. worcej (-48)
17. celaph (-50)
18. kak (-78)

This is largely a mix of number of posts and number of words. However, it is interesting to ask what it means to have a SIMP factor of 0: that you talk about other people as much as they talk about you. With this in mind, we can see that many of the traditionally considered heavy hitters are just above 0. Players far below 0 are low posters, but this does reveal who people were concerned with in a qualitative way: Kak, celaph, and worcej. People were not concerned about the disappearances of bozo, maniac, and rdr to the same degree. It is also worthwhile asking what town got from arguing about Demon and blamp so much: it does not seem much, especially in blamp's case.

Largest SIMP pairs (removing lowposters such as kak, maniac, worcej, because they necessarily generate large values)
1. sabi -> eden (18)
2. sabi -> blamp (16)
3. sabi -> bozo (15)
4. sabi -> celaph (14)
5. jamie -> chaqa (14)
6. pyxxy -> bona (14)
7. sabi -> maniac (13)
8. bona -> eden (11)
9. boat man -> sabi (10)
10. chaqa -> celaph (10)
11. eden -> celaph (10)

This shows us quite clearly, that sabi is a SIMP, in all senses of the word. (Sad!) They are SIMPs quite significantly for some high posters, but most of their simping is directed at mid-level posters (Blamp, bozo, celaph). Quickly skimming their ISO, this is because they talk about those three without directly engaging them as much.

It also demonstrates that Jamie is a SIMP for Chaqa. I will leave this without further comment, as I believe it is a matter for Jamie, Chaqa, and Eden to work out among themselves.

Pyxxy spends a lot of time talking about me and I was too cool to respond to it.

Boat man spends a lot of time talking about sabi, evidently. He is the only person to achieve a SIMP factor of larger than 5 wrt sabi. This is because he, also, spends a lot of time talking about sabi, although he also does interact with sabi to a fair degree. As befitting a SIMP, they do not talk about him as much as he does about them.

Celaph has many SIMPs. This is indicative of the fact that he does not respond to questions. Indeed, he has the lowest total SIMP factor of any active player (and lower than several inactive players). His only SIMP factor greater than 1 is with Kak. He only interacts with 2 players above 10 times (Sabi and Eden - the two highest posters) Why he refuses to talk about or with people is very strange given his previous play. I believe this is strongly scum indicative.

Part 3 will be a bit, but take this as you will.

tl;dr: sabi spams the thread largely about mid-level posters
boat man simps hard for sabi
celaph is scum
This post is comedy gold and I agree with all the conclusions besides the second in the tl;dr smh

to take a stab at an actual ranking or priority list, from top town on down…

1. Bona
2. Sabi
3. brain

—these are 100% unimpeachable town IMO—

4. Demon
5. Boat
6. Lamp

Demon and Boat have brought their A-game during the night phase. think both of them would have coasted way harder as mafia, even despite the pressure put on them D1. they’d be planning how to attack the thread all N1 and then come out with their play D2 instead of potentially spewing like 3-4 people town by posting as they have tonight.

Lamp looks solvey too but is newer so I have lower confidence, as we’ve never seen a Lamp mafiasided game.

7. Chaqa
8. snowy
9. ghug

pretty ok with y’all being town but you’re all crafty as sin and even I’m not cocky enough to feel I went 9/9 here. most likely place where I have blind spots.
What is Bona doing at the top?
being super alpha giga Chad town
prophetic

Popping in to inform you all that my attendance will be 'normal' as of tomorrow morning.

Work today sucked and this weekend was too busy celebrating my non-existent birthday (hint: I am turning 8.5) twice because my mother hates my MIL. Coupled with the responsibilities of being a parent, my time wasn't available to sub in for D1 and I would've told Bob to sub in Flum or HB instead.

Tonight is celebrating my non-existent Bday with friends. Tomorrow I will work and catch up on whatever the shit this game is at currently.

Alright here's my thoughts while I'm waiting for my uber home:

I'm insulted. I have never simped for any man.

Disgusted by that association.

Quickly skimming their ISO, this is because they talk about those three without directly engaging them as much.

This makes sense since a lot of it was explaining my reads on bozo and blamp.

Anyway I guess I'm now worried that maybe boatman is pocketing me...

Ugh time to iso him.

Oh wow I forgot from M71 we have the same birthday. Very jealous you're celebrating today as my plans for today are work until I go home and sleep and post here while code compiles until then :cry:

1) I'm sorry sabi, but the data clearly shows that you are a SIMP for many people. You have a SIMP factor of 10 or greater for 6 (!) people.

3) I would think that if boat man was trying to pocket you, he'd be talking more directly with you, although the original data is not separated out by interactions and mentions, so it's hard to say without an ISO. My impression is that he spent a large amount of time talking about you, indicating that he spends a lot of time thinking about you. Truly the hallmark of the SIMP
