Really?
You (and others, but you are the talking head) put a LOT of effort into NOT lynching Flav.
Not in lynching bozo, or trying to lynch Prado... but in avoiding Flav's noose for him.

Yes, we put a lot of effort into LYNCHING Prado - which by default means we put a lot of effort into not lynching Flav. I fail to see your point. Isn't that common sense?dargorygel wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 4:08 pmlol

Not the same thing at all. Potentially two different goals.ChippeRock wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 4:12 pmYes, we put a lot of effort into LYNCHING Prado - which by default means we put a lot of effort into not lynching Flav. After a reread of EOD, I’m still inclined to think that Flavius is scum but that the rest of the kapslock krew is town. In particular, I think Chippe’s assertion that he knows everything is one of ego and not scum.

Not lynching Flav only appears as a goal in the last 3 minutes (and instead lynching a more scummy player - even if I thought he was town). Again I ask, how much effort could I have put in in the last 3 minutes?dargorygel wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 4:43 pmNot the same thing at all. Re: Mafia 46 - Ace Attorney - GAME THREAD
You may be speaking personally, but Carl was certainly trying to avoid the Flavius lynch more than anything else we’ll before EOD. What do you think of that?ChippeRock wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 4:56 pmNot lynching Flav only appears as a goal in the last 3 minutes (and instead lynching a more scummy player - even if I thought he was town). @Trprado
Here are my answers to your questions.
From your D1 reads post:
Two reasons. Falling behind in posts makes it hard to contribute to current discussions. This week was rly busy for me, meaning I didn't have enough time to keep up with the thread + thus participate in current discussion. When others ask me things, that topic of discussion goes on hold until I respond, so I'm technically not behind when I respond to those.
I see how problematic a lack of posts can be, so I have started posting responses even if they're behind.
On the first question:
I don't have a lot of reads right now. This is likely due to not being very involved in discussion, which I plan to remedy in the coming days. That being said, town leans and reads include you and teacon.
My read on you comes from the effort put into your posts. Competent scum are definitely able to mimic that kind of effort, but I think it's more likely you're town for it.
My read on teacon comes mostly from consistency in play. While you apparently dislike that reasoning, similar reads (by others) have been given to Durga and ND. I'm sure there are others, but none come to mind rn.
Regarding your N1 analysis post:
I dislike highly aggressive and reactionary players and think they aren't very useful to the town. In addition, I do not support attempts to game the system and/or cheat. Teacon asked in D1 about personal 'algorithms' for policy lynching, so consider both of the aforementioned factors as part of my 'algorithm.' Since I was unable to keep up and gather reliable reads, I instead resorted to (imo) the next best style on which to vote - policy. I based the vote on said algorithm, and Chippe was the highest on the list.
It definitely looks tunnely, and it probably is to a certain degree, but I can assure you I won't fixate only on Chippe. ND had some pretty crazy behaviour in m1007. Despite me pushing for (and ultimately failing) a policy lunch on ND, I changed my stance once his playstyle changed. By the end of D2, I was pretty comfortable townreading ND (which turned out to be correct). Chippe doesn't compare directly to ND's example because of the cheating element, but I hope it served as a rough analogy.
It's tough to determine here if (a) you dislike my read bcz you disagree with it, (b) you dislike my read because of how I reached my conclusion, or (c) a bit of both a and b.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume (b). As stated above in my response to your D1 post, my read on teacon is based off of consistency in his playstyle. Reads + comments on Moscow, Durga, xorxes, and ND have all been presented in this thread based off of behaviour. It also happens that I like his playstyle, but it's worth mentioning that you can find unappealing playstyles consistent, and thus potentially read the player as town because of this.
Is teacon capable of mimicing his town play as scum? Certainly! As the game progresses, I expect teacon's inquisitive playstyle to transform into well-reasoned and thoughtful reads - as it did last game. If this doesn't happen, we should be asking why he is behaving inconsistently with his town game.
Here are my answers to your questions.
From your D1 reads post:
Answering the second question first:Thoughts on issues not related to Chippe?
Why is that the only basis of your participation except when others ask you?

Regarding Chippe, I think his unfaltering and unchanging approach is super tunnely, and he seems to be basing his views of a decent few other people on it, like Durga who he goes to bat for in defense against Chippe posts

Though what I find truly troubling is his read on teacon. When he sees teacon coming under fire, the ONLY reason he gives in his defense is that it seems like how a town teacon played in the last game, and now he's hard reading teacon as town here too. It feels like he's trying to make excuses for somebody else's play.

You don't mind providing the messages that indicate Carl was trying to avoid Flav's lynch anything else, do you?Foxcastle wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 5:04 pmYou may be speaking personally, but Carl was certainly trying to avoid the Flavius lynch more than anything else we’ll before EOD. As I recall, Carl put a lot of effort into getting the Prado wagon rolling, but I don't seem to recall avoiding Flav's lynch was a greater priority to him than lynching Prado. But perhaps I'm wrong, if you don't mind providing those messages that prove what you just stated, perhaps we can come to an agreement on Carl's motivations.
Re: Mafia 46 - Ace Attorney - GAME THREAD
Hey Carl Tuckerson, what do you think of Chippe's characterization of how you started the TrPrado wagon?
Re: Mafia 46 - Ace Attorney - GAME THREAD
Okay peeps I got like ten min break atm. Top suspects are cruaader spot, chippie, Darg. Lesser so:. Xorxes (something ain't right with that guy), I don't really like this Conner or et losers either. Maybe Balki as an extremity. These are just off the cuff read mental thoughts on my break on my phone.

I didn't say he started the TrPrado wagon. I said he put a lot of effort into getting it rolling. There's a difference.
Why don't you show me those quotes that show Carl was intent on not lynching Flav now please instead of misconstruing what I said?

Fair question. Now could you please show me the quotes that show Carl was more intent on NOT lynching Flav than he was on lynching TrPrado?Foxcastle wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 5:37 pmHey Carl Tuckerson, what do you think of Chippe's characterization of how you put a lot of effort into getting the TrPrado wagon rolling?ChippeRock wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 5:34 pmI didn't say he started the TrPrado wagon. It’s correct...? I don’t exactly think he’d disagree, what’s the point in asking?Foxcastle wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 5:37 pmHey Carl Tuckerson, what do you think of Chippe's characterization of how you put a lot of effort into getting the TrPrado wagon rolling?ChippeRock wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 5:34 pmI didn't say he started the TrPrado wagon. He did not start the Prado wagon. I refuse to let darg & Fox slander my words to try getting my lynched. Now, Fox, answer the question - I would prefer you not make statements about other people's character without backing up those statements.Tom Bombadil wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 5:45 pmBro - why are you so defensive?ChippeRock wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 5:34 pmI didn't say he started the TrPrado wagon. I can’t imagine anyone could have missed how vehemently Carl was trying to not get Flav lynched
Re: Mafia 46 - Ace Attorney - GAME THREAD
I recanted on "start the wagon", but your words at this point are that Carl "put a lot of effort into getting it rolling", where 'it' refers to the TrPrado wagon.ChippeRock wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 5:51 pmHe did not start the Prado wagon. But it seems you and TrPrado agree that this is generally true.
