Re: Tiny Hunt I Game Thread
Why would we want to sheep the lump guy? The lump guy doesn't need to lead town, he just needs to vote for scum. If we sheep the lump guy, he has complete control. If we are going to sheep him anyway, there really isn't a point in giving him the extra vote to begin with.DoubtingThomas wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 2:57 amif he posts one line to say someone is scummy, others will not be able to see his reasoning and sheep him properly.Squigs44 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 2:49 am@DT - Players like ghug, bb, Ezio, etc make a lot of posts without pointing out the obvious. It's got an air of arrogance to it. Like his post asking ND what he thinks about the new stupid players. I think they do this in part to see who is able to follow their reasoning and who is on the same page as them. They imply a lot of things, assume that you know certain things, and see how you react. I personally don't use this playstyle, as I think clear concise logic is more my style. But I have seen it used by ghug and others while they were town effectively. There is a lot about the tone of Ezios posts, things he implies, attitudes that he uses when referring to certain players that tell me a whole lot more about Ezio than the actual content he posts.
I remember when I first started playing that it drove me completely nuts when ghug did this type of thing. But over time I got better at picking up on his playstyle. I think right now you are missing a lot of Ezio's play, and that is why you are scumreading him and he is scumreading you.
if that is the case, the least we can say is that is the worst candidate to be lumped and try to be a town leader, especially when we can barely tell he is truly townie or scummy.

Re: Tiny Hunt I Game Thread
jokes aside, i skimmed (i should iso) but i think y2k has done the most scum hunting. he's one of the only people who has at least somewhat considerable case on the people he's voting and he's got two of them. i think i've seen mostly people joke voting and giving a reason for only like one of the candidates.
i like what i am seeing with y2k and no wonder people are saying this is his towniest game. which, by its nature, i am ready to suspect. i dont like big changes in play style that is notable that much
Re: Tiny Hunt I Game Thread
So are you going to lump vote yourself now? Can you please get out of this tunnel you are in for a second and maybe look at other players? Thoughts on worcej? You called out Ezio for scumreading damo, do you think he is town?

Re: Tiny Hunt I Game Thread
i thought the point of lump was so the guy has +1 vote so the person with the 'best scum read' should take it because their vote becomes the most important? and they can use that as a leverage on wagons?Squigs44 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 3:03 amWhy would we want to sheep the lump guy? Re: Tiny Hunt I Game Thread
we've spent over half a day phase just talking about mechanics and i dont think we've really gotten much out of it
that was a good topic for scums to blend in and pretend to look like they are contributing, when in fact, they are just going to be more hidden and we have very few information on people's READS on other people which we can also use to READ them, thus our scum hunting this d1 phase will be lackluster.

Re: Tiny Hunt I Game Thread
You got the mechanics right. But just because they have an extra vote doesn't mean that they are going to vote scum every time. Sure, if they have a good reason for their vote that you agree with, then you can sheep them, but the same applies to every player irregardless of lump. I'm saying that the lump power doesn't give them extra scumhunting abilities that makes us want to sheep them necessarily.DoubtingThomas wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 3:13 ami thought the point of lump was so the guy has +1 vote so the person with the 'best scum read' should take it because their vote becomes the most important? and they can use that as a leverage on wagons?

Yea but that doesnt mean we should just give away lump to whoeverSquigs44 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 3:18 amYou got the mechanics right. I still dont see why you lumped ezio there except that his reads has something that cannot be seen by the ordinary
But u cant even be sure he is town or scum?
Id rather give it so someone who at least shows me their thought process so i can at least assess where their votes coming from not someone who is too smart to do that. I wont be comfortable letting those persons have +1 vote power

Re: Tiny Hunt I Game Thread
Well, I said before I don't have a read on DT, I am now updating for a solid town read on him. His tone looks a lot like two games ago and the logic seems towny too.
@Squiggs - Why you are making such a defense of Ezio? Isn't better to just let him defend himself?
If the criteria to give lump is to be a leader, I am not a good candidate. I am not a big pusher and this game seems even harder to read. People are quiet and posting mostly about mechanics. I still fail to see players like Jamiet, ND and Bozo engaging the game. At this point my vote would be on one of them, as I can't find something really scummy on the others.

DoubtingThomas spent a lot of time defending a comment he made about a Squigs post, that looked defensive to me, and I do not remember DoubtingThomas looking defensive in previous games as town.

Thank you Bozo! Alternative view for me:
Worcej: 2 (Bo, damo)
Doubting Thomas: 2 (bozo, ND)
Bo_sox: 1 (Ezio)
Damo:1 (Squigs)
Ezio: 1 (Doubtingthomas)
Y2k: 1 (Vecna)
Yavuzovic: 1 (Y2k)
it takes 7 to Lynch, 10 to hard Lynch. Day ends in 14 hours. REMEMBER, once day ends, no more posting during night. I know thats different than normal, so once again
NO POSTS DURING NIGHT.

Re: Tiny Hunt I Game Thread
You believe that mafia would not be willing to pursue the role of the participation enforcer? It's something I have done as mafia multiple times in the past because it's something I have done as town. I still do it. It is NAI. It is smart to say that people should participate no matter what role you draw, so again, how do you deduce that this approach somehow makes him town?DoubtingThomas wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 12:02 am@bo, if you are having hard time understanding english, let me summarize my post for you
Your question: Why do I think Squig's post is townie?
Because
I feel that he is doing opposite of what mafias would do. Opposite of mafia is town. that's why i think that post he made is townie. because he's doing the opposite of what a mafia would do. in other words, he's townie.I believe that mafias are going to be more welcoming to the idea of not participating so that he can, along with other inactive townies, coast around to the end of the game. that's the easiest way for him to win. however, here, squigs is pursuing the exact opposite of that, something that makes the game harder for himself if he was ever to be a mafia.
Furthermore,
he is doing what I believe townies do. if he's doing what townies are doing in his post, that post is townie for meI feel his sincere encouragement for us to get the game moving -- which is what townies do early game when the game does not pick up.
not sure if it helped
Why do you believe that townies encourage us "to get the game moving?" Those are extremely vague terms that do us absolutely no good. Is he encouraging us to scumhunt? Is he encouraging us to vote a certain way? Is he encouraging us to eat caffeinated chocolate pudding while we sit at our keyboards and type so that we have more energy and post more? Once you figure out what you actually mean, why does whatever you actually mean indicate that he is town, and why would mafia not do whatever you actually mean?
Re: Tiny Hunt I Game Thread
I appreciate the point you are making, but why are you stepping in to defend Ezio? Regardless of how you read him that's dumb.Squigs44 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 2:49 am@DT - Players like ghug, bb, Ezio, etc make a lot of posts without pointing out the obvious. Re: Tiny Hunt I Game Thread
And rdrivera already asked that. Perhaps I should post after reading instead of posting while reading.
Re: Tiny Hunt I Game Thread
Your vote isn't on any of them. You have just over 12 hours to figure the day out. Between all three of your favorite candidates for the lynch, there are exactly 0 votes cast against them. Rather than talking out of your ass, how about some action?rdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 3:55 amIf the criteria to give lump is to be a leader, I am not a good candidate. If he is defending an idea, that means he's fighting, and he isn't defensive to me. He has contributed good to me. I find this scumread weird, like bozo needed to find something to accuse him and after thinking he found this.
