Re: M1027: Community - Game Thread
I apologize, I've mistakenly thought that I retracted my statement N1 where I hinted that I had a strong reason for scumreading Heart.
I think I got confused because I did something similar with Bozo and I guess later on I thought that I retracted my Heart comment when I had really retracted my Bozo statement.
Apologies to anyone I scolded for not reading closely enough to notice my retraction statement.
That all being said, I still have a bad feeling about Heart, but I haven't made a case yet and so consequently that opinion could change.

Lol at you going back to using your time on this.TheMadMonarch wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 1:49 pmAm I advocating we change systems? I don't think so, (clarity is king), but its something to think about. Maybe we start mostly ignoring the results as they come up? I don't know, that's for y'all to decide, I will be dead.
You failed to consider the fact that learning a single player is town also just means scum kill them immediately (effectively what happened to darg was your plan) and scanning two makes us twice as likely to hit scum (what happened to you). If we get it wrong, we trade a miskill for a scum. If we get it right, we get a free scum kill and the other player is basically in the same position as if they were scanned town with your method.
Re: M1027: Community - Game Thread
We could have done this at the beginning of the game if we wanted to and we went with the strategy that just caught us scum instead.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 1:53 pmVT VOTE Ghug
Seems obvious to me:
1. We flip MadMo, therefore also learning Ghug's alignment.
2. The VTs all guess Ghug again tonight, allowing the Cop to get a 100% accurate scan with no ambiguity.
Re: M1027: Community - Game Thread
Why are you giving people town points for mechanics when you know with certainty that someone actively involved in the D1 mechanical discussion is scum?worcej wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 4:22 pmI think this is a fair analysis.rdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 2:26 pmI think we need to do the math. We are now 8-3. If we are right about Monarch (seems the DK today), scum kill Ghug and we will be 7-2 D4. Seems fine to use the party cop again to get another 50/50 or two town or two Mafia.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 2:01 pm
That is no different than the plan Monarch suggested D1. A publicly announced cop scan is good, but I think a parity check on 2 more players is better.
If we are wrong, scum kill another town and we will be 6-3 tomorrow and we will need to kill Ghug tomorrow. If we got another 50/50 or same alignment we can use the Investigator again to decide on who is scum or clear.
So it's seems fine to use the parity cop at least one more time.
Rdr town points going up as well.

Re: M1027: Community - Game Thread
This may be what flips my vote onto Monarch. Monarch, if you truly are town then you know for sure who a mafia is. This is dumb, stupid play.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 1:50 pmVoting someone you suspect as scum, over someone you're sure is scum.TheMadMonarch wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 12:13 amHere's the deal. From my perspective.
I know ghug is scum now, y'all dont. Even if you decide to save me over ghug, I will just eat the NK. So this is pointless.
I would like to get sweet.

I think we should hold a vote.
My vote for VT selection is for heart.

If we kill the mafia, the other dies as NK. If we kill innocent, then the mafia dies next round.
rip both of them :/

I proposed this with darg but it got shot down, and one night investigation vote isn’t enough to change the result.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 1:54 pmAm I actually the first person to point this out?Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 1:51 pmIf Monarch flips town we should vote you again tonight because then we will have a 100% clear scan outcome.

We couldn't have done this D1 / N1, as I have explained.ghug wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 5:08 pmWe could have done this at the beginning of the game if we wanted to and we went with the strategy that just caught us scum instead.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 1:53 pmVT VOTE Ghug

Why did you think there was a strong reason for scumreading Heart, and what changed your mind?sweetandcool wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 4:55 pmI apologize, I've mistakenly thought that I retracted my statement N1 where I hinted that I had a strong reason for scumreading Heart.
Or are you saying the whole thing was just a reaction test to see how Heart responded to you?

Should we hammer the day, or is there plenty more to discuss?

Re: M1027: Community - Game Thread
Monarch proposed a mechanically sound plan to do so, which we discussed at length.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 7:02 pmWe couldn't have done this D1 / N1, as I have explained.ghug wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 5:08 pmWe could have done this at the beginning of the game if we wanted to and we went with the strategy that just caught us scum instead.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 1:53 pmVT VOTE Ghug

I think it's probably worth trying to reach a conclusion on the night vote in the next few hours so we can save a day and not totally kill momentum. I may try to do a little more solving if given the time, but realistically my energy wanes when I know I'm about to be killed.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 7:04 pmShould we hammer the day, or is there plenty more to discuss?

Because it’s adaptive reasoning and willingness to entertain modifications to the rigid approach.ghug wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 5:12 pmWhy are you giving people town points for mechanics when you know with certainty that someone actively involved in the D1 mechanical discussion is scum?worcej wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 4:22 pmI think this is a fair analysis.rdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 2:26 pm

He questions it but is good with staying the course. It comes off as analyzing and reflecting versus pushing.

I am almost the opposite. My give a fucks go down when it is down to a coin flip and I would rather move on and begin to process new information.ghug wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 7:09 pmI think it's probably worth trying to reach a conclusion on the night vote in the next few hours so we can save a day and not totally kill momentum.
