Question about this scenario: how does a VT take a bullet when they publicly say they are protecting themselves?ND wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 10:58 pmOk, saw the post on Frost. Yeah. It's something.
Cmdr or Frost should be considered I think. I don't know I'm 50/50 on Chaqa. Like, I get his post. It *Makes* sense. It really does with a few oddities.
VT! Chaqa comes up with a plan to put himself out day 1 as Jekyll. Knowing full well that it is likely to make him a target. Okay. A standard opening like this as a VT is acceptable. Some really great plays are made in games by VT's fake claiming early and taking a bullet for a PR. I think all of us who have played long term would agree on that. Then Chaqa, see's my cloud nine posts where I exclaim how I ate and mitigated night actions and doubles down. At this point, his gambit at drawing a NK has already failed. So, he wants to confuse the thread to start D2 and set up a CC situation between me and him. He let's this persist overnight until the morning (for me) when he posts his retraction and what he was doing. He wanted to see who bought into what. That may have been his way of at least trying to salvage something out of his opening. Fair. Always do the most with what you can after you open a specific strategy. It's possible we got Cmdr out of it (guy stinks) and something is off about Darg (100% feel that).

Question Bunny: For someone advocating we must lynch between the two of them, at the time, why has your vote not been in place on one of the two?BunnyGo wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 11:23 pmChaq revoking his claim has changed my position.DemonRHK wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 10:54 pm@Bunny: I don’t buy it. Not to mention that Mafia have very little interest in getting rid of Hyde, so claiming Jekyll is not the way to take a bullet. Softing Sherlock like ND seems to have done is the way to take a bullet.BunnyGo wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 11:31 pmQuestion about this scenario: how does a VT take a bullet when they publicly say they are protecting themselves?ND wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 10:58 pmOk, saw the post on Frost. Also, claiming in order to protect the real Jekyll is also silly because the real Jekyll is in no need of protection from scum. It would only protect him from a town mob wanting to lynch him D1, but by the time Chaqa claimed any ideas of lynching Jekyll D1 had been pretty much quashed. And in any case Jekyll would not have been exposed to the mob unless they chose to.

@Bunny, saw your post. Like, those were just my thoughts. Your post demonstrates a flaw in my thought process.

Hotter take: Chaqa is scum team 1 and planned to have watch him.
I might be swayed to chaqa today.

GM NOTE:
As a reminder, because various people demanded it, Night Two, when it arrives, will last for 48 hours, rather than 24, in order to give an extra day's play over "Thanksgiving", even though that is a made-up festival not celebrated in London.

Re: MAFIA 51 - LONDON BY GASLIGHT [HIDDEN]
yeah your counter to what I said about the potential that this is VT Chaqa really is strong @Xorxes
I guess, and perhaps it is noteworthy to mention even in my longer post above, I have trouble articulating or even conceiving why a scum would do this though. If he is scum, he had to know that Jekyll wasn't going to make it long. Why choose that role to fake claim? Why put yourself in a position where the real Jekyll would counter pretty much guaranteed by end of day #3. Then when that does happen (me) he drops the CC? I guess, a possible answer is he is on Moriarity's team and he knows that if he continued the CC whether or not he got lynched first or I did that he was going to die and his team would then be at 1/3. Maybe he thought the best play was to backtrack and attempt to preserve his life to maintain his team's chance at success?

What are your first impressions after seeing the role you got?
And do you think Vapor handled it well?
@bo_sox same question to you
You replaced Computer G, why did you say this @Bo Sox?

I was waiting to decide. In the meantime, I was registering my scumlean of Xorxes. I had every intention of changing. Interesting developments, I called one of them backtracking and it turned out to be Chaqa, oh well.
His story is somewhat believable, but I'm fine with him being lynched too if you all still have your doubts. For now I should ##unvote

Flavius is continuing to bring these type of towny ass statements. And he also has a pretty good point here. I felt Vapour was pretty towny at the start, so i didnt understand the wagon there, but Tom has been extremely bland so far.FlaviusAetius wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 4:48 pmThis is what I mean, your literally an empty suit, you have nothing, your not committing to anything, do you see why it looks so slippery??Tom Bombadil wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 4:47 pmI had no impressions?
I mean, I read the role before I read the game, so I wasn’t exactly focusing on what vapor said since I already knew my role. One less person to deduce.
Re: MAFIA 51 - LONDON BY GASLIGHT [HIDDEN]
I have trouble imagining why any alignment would fakeclaim Jekyll.ND wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 11:54 pmyeah your counter to what I said about the potential that this is VT Chaqa really is strong @Xorxes

One possible guess is that he expected the claim would make him survive at least until D3, since neither Jack, nor the opposing Mafia, nor town would target him, while giving him clout to direct town's lynches, and then just retract when the real Jekyll claimed. If it was a well considered town strategy as he claims, he has not demonstrated any results. It would have been more believable if he had said he did it just for laughs and then it got out of hand, or something like that, but then why not retract immediately after you claimed?
Re: MAFIA 51 - LONDON BY GASLIGHT [HIDDEN]
And this seems like a convenient mischaracterization just to make Flavius' argument look weaker than it is.Tom Bombadil wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 4:50 pmYour getting mad at me for not having “impressions” on the one role I know in a game of this size.FlaviusAetius wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 4:48 pmThis is what I mean, your literally an empty suit, you have nothing, your not committing to anything, do you see why it looks so slippery??Tom Bombadil wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 4:47 pmI had no impressions?
