Man, I have no clue who it could be. I've searched every variation of "famous people who became mayors" but there's no one who fits all the criteria. Hoping someone will have a flash of brilliance and get it.

With the caveat that each QM can interpret questions how they seem reasonable, I think we have all over indexed on the mayor thing. Few cities under 150,000 have a notable mayor. If this person is in fact well known for politics, I think it's because of something else (like Pete Buttigieg is famous because he ran for president, not for being mayor - though Buttigieg fails multiple other criteria.

Hint: Although I'm not sure what this person's primary source of fame is in general, I think that most people on this forum who know of this person know of him from his non-political source of fame.
