Re: M1024: Panhandlin' [GAME THREAD]
I am speculating/assuming that your vote for Flum isn't serious?
Re: M1024: Panhandlin' [GAME THREAD]
Can I ask why you would think me engaging with Jamie as he was engaging with you is explicitly scummy? I can see how, if you were another 3rd party here, that it could look like I was defending you in that instance, but it’s weird to see you have so much thought on that interaction with Jamie.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 3:34 pmI am probably not going to make myself clear here, but I'll try. Regarding the bolded section, I think there are some things to consider. This event happened early in the dayphase. I think a skilled mafia would be able to engage with someone, perhaps even passively, and pick up on a suspicion or doubt that the individual have. Challenging the other party allows that suspicion to still fill up the airspace.worcej wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 3:15 pmThat all being said - I am not shocked to see where someone would arrive to a conclusion that I am trying to soft-push and set up MK’s, but in this case the first person to say so (HB) is referring to a time when I was pushing on Jamie and didn’t even scum HB. I already brought it up to HB, but it seems odd he felt so off about that interaction since he wasn’t the target of my attention.
Now, bozo is trying to jump in and this gives me far more scum vibes because it is weak and just as equally applicable to himself right now after his poor push on Jamie.
I know it's convoluted.
The more I think about it, the more I read your latest thoughts, the more I doubt my own line of thinking.
I engaged with Jamie because I had remembered he had done post counting “a couple times” (turns out only once) and thought his suspicions with you doing it was weird.

No, my scum pool is currently bozo/damo/rdrHamilton Brian wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 3:36 pmI am speculating/assuming that your vote for Flum isn't serious?

##vote damo
I don’t like damo’s rdr vote and lack of content outside of the Koala stuff as I mentioned.

at no point did any vote i make put kak in the lead - at no point anywhere close to eod was kak ever in the leadKoalaAttack wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 5:03 amAll my other points above. Also something about your voting pattern D1 reminds me of last game, it's too perfect a timing. Looks so good how you moved to put Kak in the lead, just Mafia Bona would do.Bonatogether wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 2:35 amcan you point out any similarities in my play between this game and last beyond 'joking around'KoalaAttack wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 10:00 pm
I also like how Bona is encouraging me to break the rules and talking to someone who is not in the game
So to summarize ... trolls,
posts
short
separate
things
boosting
post
count
doesn't really engage with actual questions directed at them (such as Fluminator's about me from last game) in depth
tells me to focus on solving and not on the KirbyKoala gimmick while engaging in his own joking around
and feels strangely familiar to the Bona from Mafia Chat last game
2.5 on the Towniness scale of 10 being Town and 1 being Mafia

If it's really Koala vs The World, at some point Koala gets bored / burned out and turns into a Lfischl.

Re: M1024: Panhandlin' [GAME THREAD]
you're saying 'damo singled himself out in this way, so he's likely to be scum', but i just don't think that follows. if anything, are scum not more likely to follow the herd to blend in?KoalaAttack wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 5:06 amNothing. Many players did that this game.Bonatogether wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 2:38 amkoala what is actually suspicious about playing along and then being annoyed? why is he more likely to do that as scum than as townKoalaAttack wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 11:57 pm
I'm also not sure. I even stopped Impersonating people.
Probably because I referred to the Deity of 666 as a poor imitation of Emperor Palpatine and Damo hates Star Wars and it came across as an insult.
It's also funny that Damo has played along with me saying it was my birthday as BrainKoala and also with the Space Odyssey 2001 references entirely on their own, unprovoked – and now the same Damo is getting really annoyed with it:
But irony aside, it is also Suspicious. Why not just ignore me like others are doing. Even Jamiet – clearly hates the roleplaying, said won't engage on it, and seems to have done so... while continuing to still engage on other topics.
A convenient excuse for Damo to get a MK of me? Hmm.... my list of suspects is growing: Jamiet, Bona now Damo.
But Damo voting for me out of with zero actual case, then ignoring my follow up while clearly have read it (since Damo responded to HB's follow up around the same time) is suspicious. Others seem to be able to separate annoyance vs alignment suspicious. If Damo actually made a case of how I'm Mafia, it would be one thing – but Damo didn't. It's just too convenient.

i think your voting pool (setting yourself aside) has a strong chance of being entirely townKoalaAttack wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 5:09 amI am actually getting more and more impressed with Lfischl. I am going to practice talking less and lurking more. Today, I would be willing to vote any of: Bona, Damo, Jamiet, Koala**
** – don't tell me it's bad for town, Mafia is only a team game when you are a Mafia in my experience, as a Townie I don't feel like I have a supportive team, so whatever – if I'm beating my head against the wall and clearly most people including a bunch of Townies statistically dislike my contributions, why not ritual suicide and save us both a headache, eh?

i'm categorizing this post under 'scum looking to mk bona' as per usualHamilton Brian wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 5:10 amKoala stronger here, bona less so.
Bona, there's this...I don't know what the fuck it is, but shit does it just not rub me bloodily-chaffed raw. I think we've danced around it in previous games. Sometimes I read you right, sometimes I read you wrong. Jamie has his Bozo. I think HB has his Bona. This time, I think you are grossly mafia.
Worcej vs Bona is going to be good EOD2.

i got you on something good in that gamebozotheclown wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 6:58 amI reviewed that game and I did not see any place where you used the same justification for suspecting I was mafia. It seems like you just picked a game where you correctly suspected I was mafia even though it does not support this claim:

Re: M1024: Panhandlin' [GAME THREAD]
I don't think it's an explicit thing. I think it's a subtle opportunity. It goes back to my "filling the room" theory. Which is probably such a stupid idea anyway, but this is where I am at today.worcej wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 3:58 pm
Can I ask why you would think me engaging with Jamie as he was engaging with you is explicitly scummy? I can see how, if you were another 3rd party here, that it could look like I was defending you in that instance, but it’s weird to see you have so much thought on that interaction with Jamie.
Which is why I am taking some other looks at interactions because I am worried that I have focused so much on you that I've dug a hole and can't reliably see anything else.

Fluminator wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 6:31 amI like you koala, but you're going to need to get used to people voting you and going against you. I don't know your previous experience but the ringer you're going through right now is not bad at all compared to what I see some players go through. Getting miskilled is miserable but it will happen one day if it's not this game and it's just a part of the process.
Don't take anything personally. If you feel hurt by Damo he's an older guy who sometimes gets upset at things but it's not personal. A long time ago I posted the bee movie script in a game and he was so angry at me lmao.
Fluminator wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 3:14 pmKoala: I think he was genuinely offended by Damo's vote on him for finding him annoying, which I think is more likely town. I think he's done enough today to not be the kill, but I understand why people and ghug suspected him.
To clarify, I am not frustrated, I am learning. (Though thanks to those who have been supportive, unless you are doing it as Mafia). My reaction to Damo was *suspicion*.Bonatogether wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 4:23 pmkoala could be either newb town getting pissed or scum modelling that well - lean first
The lesson I learned is simple – I have the highest word count of all players past phases. Then I look at word counts of like rdr or Damo or Bozo.
I'm trying too hard / putting it too much effort. That's not emotional, that's my logical conclusion. The only one I'm frustrated with is myself for not figuring this out sooner.
I will adjust to lfischl-ify. I read all the new posts, nothing new to contribute ATM.

Re: M1024: Panhandlin' [GAME THREAD]
I do have 1 thought: if there are 2 Mafias left, based on reactions to me, I think there is one Mafia in Flum, HB, worcej (what did brainbomb called me doing to Damo last game?) and one Mafia in everyone else (annoyed with me) to spread their eggs among baskets
Re: M1024: Panhandlin' [GAME THREAD]
I've narrowed it down to 9 pairs. I think that's achieving something.worcej wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 3:21 pmI like this vote but hate the lack of game reasoning beyond causing chaos.
Again, more of not doing much from damo.
