So a few thoughts.

This was basically a vanilla game.
The 24-hour limit on the idol made it a very weak PR.

The "vote once" limitation was very interesting; I think it was balanced because it locked in town mistakes BUT also forced people to focus AND made bussing a lot more of a risk (hence I didn't really do it).

I would like to know why Dip&War neither used the idol nor claimed when on the block, that's really odd to me.

I disagree on the vote mechanic being balanced. Fundamentally town solves by applying variable pressure and seeing how people respond to it, and it's just hard to do that effectively if you can't move votes and analyze the patterns.

We could have played better anyway of course, but I definitely think the voting was an advantage to scum.

The vote flippers (you scum's flavor name)... the first time I read Will's proposed game) I wondered if the scum were going to have power to change someone's vote.

So, I screwed that up pretty badly.

I don't regret the choice not to use the idol; the mechanics mean it would essentially out me (and with no doctor I would immediately die), and at the deadline (halfway through the day) it looked quite likely the vote would be either darg or jamie anyways.

However, I definitely should have claimed it near the end. I was initially trying very hard to survive that day without revealing myself, and by the time ghug voted, I forgot that claiming the idol was an option.

I also think we should have gone with the %% vote more, as it would have almost entirely removed the (VERY ANTI-TOWN) effects of the one-vote limit

Yeah...I was thinking a secret vote mechanism... only totals given in public. And the person whose vote flipped would receive notice... and somehow if the scum flipped the vote ro where the player was already voting, the scum was outed. I thought WAY too much about this. It would require a big game.

Sorry this was probably supposed to come across as more silly and hyperbolic than a real complaint. (Hence the theatrical "boooo").

I do think that the GM has somewhat of an obligation to provide a little flavour, and I am sad about the lack of a proper ending. But then I am the king of flavour.

Will actually looks like he hasn't been online here for several days. In all seriousness, I hope he is okay?
