It's a good question though!Wattsthematter wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 2:58 pmLooks like it.. Let's scratch my stupid question about 2 syllables in the first name for now
Re: Twenty Questions Game 389
I will scratch this question, since the answer is probably "yes" anyway.
Re: Twenty Questions Game 389
By my count the guessers have two questions left. Also, I said yes about religion, but this person has another primary source of fame. I think both are about equal, so I'll say yes to questions regarding either.

Rephrasing my earlier question: primarily associated with Protestantism?
Re: Twenty Questions Game 389
I wouldn't call this person's other source of fame a field per se, just something that they're known for.DreamTrawler wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 10:13 pm12,,15,17. A hint to bump the thread and move the game along: This person's other source of fame is being the subject of a written work.

Re: Twenty Questions Game 389
If no one has any ideas for guesses, maybe we can formulate a 20th question?
Some options - time period
inquiring as to the nature of the work they are the subject of
syllables in name or another list of common names like John etc
whether they were burned at the stake

Re: Twenty Questions Game 389
I support anyone who has a good 20th question to just go for it and ask - the game has already been going on for a week and we just had a good stretch with no activity. Let's get to guessing.
Without knowing the answer I can't comment on this outside of a hypothetical, but if the person is fairly obscure perhaps a more accessible choice would be in order next time.

I'll give a final hint that this person is the subject of a work that is, according to wikipedia, a nursery rhyme.

John Fell?
(Just looking up wiki nursery rhymes, though I’m not entirely sure how his bio squares with not being considered a writer)

John Fell is correct!Aristocrat wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 10:39 pmJohn Fell?

About being a writer, that was an error on my part. There didn't seem to be any notable works by him, so I didn't it consider him a writer at the time of answering the question.

Great, a difficult pick and the clue certainly helped! Good game, I will get a new one up now.
