Alive at the same time as John Abernethy (English surgeon who died on April 20, 1831)?

Removing 7 since it's not relevant (born after independence) and confusingly phrased.

Re: 20 Questions Game 315
Juneteenth is tomorrow. I reckon that we seek to guess an African American woman.

Re: 20 Questions Game 315
My guess is probably wrong because she was married to someone famous, but I'm keeping it up.
Also I just noticed the "white" part of JECE's question. I'm guessing this is not a white woman.

I don't know, maybe it is correct. John Owen Dominis wasn't really famous "in his own right" per se.

Re: 20 Questions Game 315
Queen Liliʻuokalani is correct! Wow, it keeps bouncing from me to Hominidae.
The arts/writing angle is that she was a prolific songwriter, most famously writing Aloha ‘Oe, one of the most well-known Hawaiian songs.
Also, it slipped my mind but an African-American woman for Juneteenth would have been a good pick.

Excellent pick! Very outside the box given the line of questioning we were on. If Hawaii hadn't been on that map that JECE provided, I don't know if I would have gotten it.
I need to get some sleep before deciding the next being, so it won't be until morning Eastern US time.

Re: 20 Questions Game 315
I think this is borderline. Clearly from his Wikipedia entry, he was a well-known public figure in Hawaii before he married her; but today in 2024 he is really only still known about, because of the historical importance of his wife.
So I'm not going to argue with the QM on this point.
Potato, potato; potato.
