Ok, now I feel really dumb. I saw the gold badge next to both of your names and assumed that you were the same. Doug7878, I would trust dipperjay over me. Sorry if I caused any confusion

That badge is only a sign that I donated some dollars to the great cause of this site, not of intellectual superiority or knowledge  Your experience in bot games is huge, so it’s helpful to know that. Maybe the (new) bot does draw more quickly or differently from what I described, who knows? One thing I’ll add, I think in classic, it depends on the recent gains from only the largest power, not every bot country.

From what I have seen, yes. The bot will draw when the player draws in all of the times I've seen and done it
No, it won’t, in my experience. I don’t know the exact specifics, but here are a few things I know: if you cancel or draw the game in the first two years (I believe up to and including A02), the bot will draw or cancel. In later years, the bot won’t cancel and it will only draw if it hasn’t gained any SCs for a number of turns. In my experience, it is incapable of looking ahead, i.e. it will draw even when it has an unstoppable path to 18, it might be purely based on a simple algorithm from recent numbers.
The bot's algorithm for accepting a draw mystifies me, based on my FvA experiences. I have experimented with voting Draw mid-way through some games, and I have seen the bot both accept and not accept draws in cases where a human would do the opposite. My only conclusion is that the draw algorithm isn't sophisticated.

I was wondering about its draws as well:

https://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?game ... #gamePanel

A weird one in that S06 I held Greece/Bulgaria and Turkey was still neutral, but that crumbled and by W07 he had 17 dots. A recapture of Tunis and a lucky guess in Turkey brought us back to 16-16. I was able to take St.Pete (and temporarily lose Tunis) S08. But with Turkey about to crumble I offered a draw which he took. Ended up with France owning Constantinople and Ankara/Smyrna remaining neutral. He was pretty much guaranteed to pick up 3 Turkish dots quickly had he declined though perhaps I could have pushed into Munich and/or Italy so who knows. I'd have declined in his position certainly.

Just start any Austria v France Game against the bots, and that's how you play Fairbot. Good luck!

Since I overlooked the actual link the first time I tried to play against bots: After you do Games, Create a New Game, look for the text link near the top of the screen "Play A Game Against Bots".

Hey Merry - Did you break bot?
I see that game "MonFvA2" is in Autumn 1935 !!!
I'm also curious - Have either of you voted DRAW ?

That game seems to have uncovered a fairbot glitch. The game is clearly a draw (but no, I have not voted draw). I wanted to see what happened if I just kept going. Since fairbot is stuck, it will eventually run out of delays and resign. I'm looking forward to that. :-D

But I've played a couple of games since that one got "stuck," so I hope I didn't break fairbot for everyone. (Fairbot seems to be stuck in multiple games at the moment.)

I won another against the Austrian bot...

@Merry. That's too bad. In my game (above), the bot hung up a couple of times, but eventually restarted in each case. Wierd.

The bot got smoked today. Did something happen, or are we getting better?

This game was drawn due to 'All players failing to enter orders'. I was playing this as a live game against the bot.

Does anyone know what happened?

Thanks for your time!
