What happens if both attack??

What happens if both attack??

Hi guys, I am new in Diplomacy. I am wondering what happens in this case:

Region X and Y are adjacent.
Player A has a unit on region X.
Player B has a unit on region Y.

Player A makes a move to region Y.
Player B makes a move to region X.

Once the turn is over, do they just switch regions? Meaning that A will be in Y and B in X?

They stay on their region.

(except if one of them moves via convoy, then they switch)
