For some time I have been tracking my performance in Diplomacy on this site.

Since the arrival of the Bots I have played them several times, where several equals 45; enough to win with every nation. My record is solo 9 (20%) and party to a draw 4 (9%). This compares to 94 games against real people with 5 solos (5%) and 19 draws 20%).

This isn't a true comparison because I tend to cancel by the end of 1902 if things are clearly going badly.

How are others doing against the Bots?

I have played 3 games against the bots and i had a solo in 2 of them.

6 solos, 1 draw in 7 attempts. Soloed every Power but Russia (which I screwed up badly)

I clearly don't get the bots. I keep getting hemmed in by my 2-3 neighbors while a bot on the other side of the board ends up threatening a solo. Has happened literally every game.

That always happens to me when I play gunboat versus real people.

4 games against the bots:
1st: Russia, 1 Center (Rome) 3-way draw R/G/T. Messed up orders in a stab on T in both S and A of 1908. Might have made a difference, maybe not.
2nd: Germany, Solo - Felt difficult.
3rd: France, Solo - Felt easy.
4th: Italy, Solo - Felt somewhere between G/F games.

Currently playing as England. Going OK. Don't think I'll solo, but who knows?
Still have to try Austria and Turkey.

bots tend to care about themselves more than a solo from occuring, so if you can just create an alliance, then backstab it at the right moment, the game is yours, and even if they can stop you, they wont.

No rage at all! I love the bots, never having played gunboat before I learn to play with them. And probably I had learned something as only twice I was defeated, all the other games were drawn. Even a 1vs1 got to a draw.
I hope one day they will be able to play press games too!

The real turing test! Its bad enough being beaten in Gunboat by the bots. No thanks, at that point the end is nigh!

After some more games, I start to understand a little better the bots. They can leave you alone or even help until you get to 9 SCs, then all hell breaks loose. They will help you again if some bot grows strong.
