Why don't Windows Updates show more information?

I feel like they used to tell you if they were optional or required, and something about the size, date of publication, etc. Now all they have is an install button.

I did find a Powershell utility to find the size, but it doesn't seem to show release dates. What is wrong with Microsoft?

To answer my question, I suspect their security model is OBFUSCATE, OBFUSCATE, OBFUSCATE.

The Powershell command isn't very useful though, it lists the update size as 86GB. This can't be right, can it?

Reportedly a certain video game often has that big updates. Idk of Windows though, I'm a Linux user now. :geek:
