Does joining lost, open positions, affect Ghost Rating?

Hi guys. I'm an experienced FtF player getting pretty keen on webdip. I am just wondering if joining hopeless positions on the open games tab, and then being defeated, affects statistics but most importantly Ghost Rating.
I would like it to be incentivised for me and other reliable players to quickly take over these games and minimise delays. But knowing that some moderator will probably sort it out often makes me hesitate when the game is completely hopeless, because it feels an unnecessary blemish to my statistics, that I want to keep a fair reflection of my ability.

I don't really care how my ranking or ghost rating is impacted by me taking on open countries in games.
It's joining a game that had missed turns & not getting a missed turn or the original number of missed turns the other players got when they joined before the game started.
If the Almighty Mods wanted to encourage players to take on abandoned countries in games that had missed turns, then give three starting game number of missed turns to the player taking on a country where it has no more missed turns because they were used by the previous player
It's the impact on my Reliability Rsting, of there's no.missed turns then it's a less attractive proposition for me..
Unless there's a fat points pot & I see a chance for me to get a share of those points I won't take on abandoned countries

Yes, a defeat (or a victory or draw) affects your Ghost Rating whether or not you played the game from the beginning. Not your

. But your Ghost Rating, yes.

Yes,Trigfea is right. We know it's not the best option, but the fact is, sometimes you join a "reasonable" or even a winning position, sometimes a very bad one; so it's not really easy to establish a rule for when you do want your GR to be affected and when you don't

That's unfortunate, but has always been true. At first it wasn't really a problem since Ghost Ratings were hosted off-site, but they've been integrated into user's profiles for a long while now. As to statistics, you could keep track manually like I did on the "User Comment:" section of my profile.

used to be a fun way to keep track of how well you did when joining open positions, but that hasn't been possible since the elimination of PPSC scoring and the

cost for joining open positions.

Thanks for the replies guys! Appreciate it. I'm a fan of statistics and trying to see how my performance is over time. I'll keep joining open positions but maybe leave the completely lost ones to the mods :)
