It pains me to admit that perhaps Russell Brand was less odious before he swapped multiple drug habits for Christianity.

I think he's just found a new audience and platform to monetize controversy.

Re: Russell Brand~forging a new career in the USA?
Going Christian makes great business sense sometimes.
I've followed many bands and music producers who, over the years, transition to making "Christian" music after failing in the secular market. It seems to guarantee you an audience with money if you are even just kind of good.
Whatever Brand may have been in the past, he is now clearly a professional "guru" looking for whatever audience is dumb enough to buy into his (admittedly entertaining) psychobabble. My guess is he discovered that the addiction recovery and/or new age market was just less lucrative than the Christian media market, where he'll stand out as unusually interesting and charismatic to many.

No, he's a weird creep and everyone knows they should avoid him.

Russell Brand is the closest thing we have to evidence that spriggans exist. Strange, clever, mischievous, tricksie, and fundamentally malevolent. Treat him like a vampire. As long as you don't invite him in you should be ok
