If I dont go visit my frozen embryo..

#1 Post by brainbomb » Sat Feb 24, 2024 4:10 pm

Will they take it away and hand it over to child protective services?

Every human being starts off as a fertilized egg. Every fertilized egg either dies, or grows into a human being. A fertilized human egg is a tiny human.

Consider this - if a mother drinks alcohol while pregnant, resulting in the death or harm of the child, then she is guilty of neglect. So no, you don't have to clothe a fertilized embryo, but if you neglect it to the point of death then it is the same as neglecting a child who has been born to the point of death.

This is a rather silly thread; I'm not sure what the point of it is, but perhaps I missed something.

Lately the forum has been so quiet (beside the game threads) that I think I would welcome any discussion. Let's also grant that brainbomb has more imagination than spam bots.

If you put a baby in a freezer, it would die.

A fertilized egg is not a baby.

I know that it's hard to believe that people like BrianBaru, CaptainFritz28 and learnedSloth are serious (I can hardly believe that they are being serious), but look at the recent unanimous ruling of the Alabama Supreme Court.

The Alabama Supreme Court is populated by religious idiots, clearly.

So, serious questions:

In Alabama is every embryo now being issued with a Birth Certificate?
In Alabama is every embryo now being issued with a Social Security number?

I also note that Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Tom Parker is a KKK-supporting white ultra-nationalist who believes that America should be a Christian fascist theocracy. Fuck that guy. He should be in jail, not holding public office.

Alabama has the death penalty, but wants to go to absurd lengths to extend full citizenship to frozen embryos. What a backward, fucked-up place.

All this will actually do is destroy the possibility of anyone in Alabama being able to get IVF treatment, and actually make it harder for some people to become parents.

I assume Jece is judging Sloth for having a bible verse as his signature.

The ruling does not necessarily reflect the views of all Christians. It's wrong to loop everybody in one large group, that's a failure to appreciate the broadness and diversity in views among the church. Take a look at a video of different denominations and you'll see pretty quickly. The ruling of the Alabama Supreme Court has no bearing on the Christian faith. Christians can use their faith to best interpret their agreement with said ruling, but just because a Supreme Court in one state made a controversial decision doesn't mean all Christians are bad people. That's quite a jump.

I am pro life. And by saying that we should be in favor of ways families can grow their family. A union of science and faith and politics that share the idea of growing the family unit.

This isnt it.
