Retiring from playing Diplomacy
Hi all! So I have nearly reached 500 games here. Ive decided that Century League game 3 will be my last.
I dont plan to leave webdip! I plan to remain as a forum member, mafia player abd an organizer of simulators.
But I dont feel ive ever really been very good at diplomacy. Recent events have soured me on the overall experience. Games take a ton of time and when people play the game to advance their stats instead of practicing actual tact and diplomacy -I find it disappointing.
I have peaked at my skills at this and I dont think I am going to get any better playing 500 more games. I hope this doesnt come off as telling others to stop playing! Please keep playing. I do love this website. I wouldnt play dip anywhere else. Im just not mentally that invested in this game anymore. Reaching 500 games and only winning about a dozen of them kind of tells you my story too.

Re: Retiring from playing Diplomacy
He will start a new game in three days as the resurrected BrainBomB and promptly solo on the top six players in webDip history.
Re: Retiring from playing Diplomacy
It's hard to solo, I think win+draw percentage is a better metric. You have a 35% rate at Classic, which is quite reasonable. Top payers start at 50%, but it's lonely at the top.
Nonetheless, I'm glad to hear you'll still be on our forum. After a while, you'll probably feel like starting a game again

I genuinely have no idea what you're talking about. What does playing games to advance stats mean? It almost sounds like you're irritated by people playing to winbrainbomb wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2018 1:09 am

Did someone say pizza? Word on the street said someone was throwing a pity party in this thread and that there'd be pizza.
I'm only here for the pizza, btw.

Thanks brad. Ya know. I’ve always felt that you’d be a great Harvey Weinstein or possibly even a really good Cosby. Something about you yells “Great movie producer and stand up comic.”
Re: Retiring from playing Diplomacy
Yes but I always kept my hands to myself, and was most respectful where women were concerned. The talent without the malace.
