With the exciting prospect of self isolation for a fortnight or so looming on many people's calenders, it is high time we gathered together a list of entertainments to pass the time (as you can only do your favourite pass time so often before going blind. Yes, amateur astronomy can put great strain on your eyes). Left to their own devices some of our members may, in a fit of desperation, end up learning a language or (heaven forbid) reading Swordsman's blog. It is our duty to save them from this fate.

Here's a fun one for fans of American wrestling. For those who are uninitiated, American wrestling is the modern day successor of the old music hall slapstick comedy, with routines drawing inspiration from silent film heroes such as Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and Laurel & Hardy.

All past WrestleMania shows and other big events including Royal Rumble, SummerSlam and Survivor Series, as well as recent episodes of WWE's weekly TV shows, Raw and SmackDown are free to watch on the WWE network :D.

Aside from B. Tuchman's address to the War College, dip fans may want to ponder Russell F. Weigley. THE AGE OF BATTLES: The quest for Decisive Warfare from Breitenfeld to Waterloo (Bloomington and Indianapolis: Indiana U.P., 1991).
Modern warfare, according to Weigley, begins with Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden, thence to Maurice of the House of Oranje and Nassau, and on up to Bonaparte.
For all I know, the Weigley book's maps may have been adapted for variants of our game by Manhattan's Strategy and Tactics store denizens in more salubrious times.
For those seeking to expound further on that era's battles academically or otherwise, Weigley offers French Revolutionary dates as well as (Old Style) Julian and Gregorian, e.g.: 21 Pluviose An IX, for clashes and retreats.
